Salvaging wool improperly washed

Thread Starter
ok... so my dh trashed a wool blanket (i'm hoping all the wool experience with diaper covers here will help).

He basically threw it into the wash unknowingly... and I proceeded to wash it 3 times with twice hot water (it was with the diapers)....

It's my fav blanket used with my oldest son and i'm absolutely heartbroken....

I have it soaking in lanolin water... but it's stiff still though softening.

Any ideas?

I read on here once that using hair conditioner can help - but I've never tried it myself! Good luck!

If you sew, and you can't salvage your favorite blanket, you could probably make some nice diaper covers or longies from it - sounds perfectly prepped!
