Any one else love Deadliest Catch? - Page 3

It was sad especially knowing what was going to happen.

One of the best parts of Deadliest Catch over the years has been the closeness of the Harris family. You could tell that despite the tough exterior, Phil loved having his boys fishing with him and his crew. I hope the boys can buy the Cornelia Marie and run it as well as their father did.

Its kinda macabe that Phil had hit the fishing of his life for the opi season just before the stroke. He was offloading the load of opis he found at "the Rock", where he did some of the best precesion fishing on the books! What a way to go. At the top if his game.

Does no one else think this is absolutly rivetting? The final scene with Jake and Josh and John hillstrand standing outside the door hearing everything. My heart just BROKE, BROOOOOOOOOOOKE.

The scene with Jake and his father fighting with Josh over the ice chips though, very cute and heartwarming. That Phil was a ball buster til the very end.

It was definitely a sad one. I think next week's will be hard too, when the news spreads to the fleet.

I've watched the show here and there before- and boy was that last episode a tear-jerker for me.

I cannot imagine how hard it was for Jake to find out the news of his dad's death and knowing that he wasn't there to say goodbye because of his addiction. I'm sure that knowing how proud his dad was of him for making the choice he did to leave for rehab but it still must have been very hard being so far away and receiving that phone call from Josh.
After the catch was just as difficult to watch - no matter how much they all fight it is obvious how much the other captains care for one another. Keith seemed to be on the verge of tears every time the camera cut to him. Next week will be very hard to watch.

OK, i have gotten choked up and misty here and there this season. But I think i havent REALLY let it out because i think we all knew what was coming.

LAST NIGHT, WHOLE DIFFERENT STORY. Seeing the reaction to phils passing on the rest of the fleets faces, EDGAR CRYING, that did me in. Watching the actual funeral service, wehere they lay Phil (ashes in gas tank) to rest, it was like sticking a knife in my heart and twisting it! And then the whole scene with the Pot full of crab with the Bouy and rining the bell. Straw on my back. AMAZING. Just give them the 4 emmys the were nomed for right NOW!

I really hope the Boys, and the show, conitnue on.

I will prolly have more to say tomorrow after I watch the tribute tonight. OYE~!

nak so short right now but wow! what an emotional episode, the reactions of the rest of the fleet were just gut-wrenching. when sig went down to the c-m to meet the new captain and found out that phil had died, ooof.

i can't believe nextweek is the season finale. it must have been so hard for josh to go back to the boat, and i wonder how jake's stint in rehab was.

It was such an emotional episode. It was surreal watching Phil's ashes in the motorcycle gas tank and then watching flasbacks of Phil talking, laughing, goofing around. It was heartwarming to see his friends, his family, and people who mentored him along the way talk about Phil. Those old photos of Phil partying it up and having a good time brought a smile to my face. I hadn't realized he offered to work for free for a year just so he could learn the crab fishing trade. Wow. That's a good work ethic.

RIP Phil Harris
