Weekly Ramble/Chat for April 13 - 19 - Page 4

You and I are like peas in a pod Helen! I have been declaring my doneness since...oh birth og DD2. We gio ONE time without protection and what do you know? My SIL, who is due 2 weeks ahead of me, miscarried her first (this will be her 2nd baby/3rd pregnancy) when I was pregnant with DD2. We were sitting here the other day and she says she really hopes she doesn't miscarry again because it would be really hard to see me go on and have a baby. I know it was just a comment but it was like an instant guilt trip. My other friend (due 2 months before me) has a friend who has been trying for about 4 years. Never once been pregnant and now my friend is on baby 3. She's dreading telling her the news. Life certainly can seem unfair in regards to fertility.

On a happier note...my m/s has been non exsistent for the last 3 days. I am through the roof!

ANd on the grilled cheese....soo tasty with avocado, sour cream, and tomato on them. :

You know the funny thing? For the last couple of days, despite having the stuff not only to make grilled cheese sandwiches but grilled vegetarian reuben sandwiches (I like them with just the cheese and the sauerkraut, although DH makes them with fake meat--ick), I haven't wanted them at all! It's like my body wants to be healthy or something. First it was certain desserts, now this.

There are a few people in my life who either want to have kids but don't have a guy to have them with or might have wanted them but their partners are adamantly against the idea, and I'm so scared of saying the wrong thing sometimes. It's hard...the last thing I want to do is make anyone feel bad. I just try not to talk about the pregnancy at all with them unless they bring it up...but even then I feel a little guilty, especially if they ask me how I'm feeling and I complain about some symptom or another. What right do I have to complain?

On a different subject, this is the first time in my life that I've ever worried about feeling *too* good. Yesterday I had more energy than I have in a couple weeks and I felt pretty normal and everything. I know I shouldn't worry about feeling good, but it would be easier to do that if I didn't have to wait to get the results of my blood test until my next appointment with the doctor! Oh well, no news is good news, right?

Hey, that's awesome! I didn't know there were patterns for that! I LOVE to crochet, and I have plenty of free time. What types of yarn do you use for this, and where do you find patterns?

I'm just going to jump in here... you have to use wool. Here's some info on wool diaper covers. I'm a knitter, so I don't have a crochet pattern, but here's what a google search will get you.

I have two people in my life who really wanted/want to have children and haven't been able to, so far... and here we are on number 4. It is difficult to break the news, but they're always happy for us--but I feel so bad... I wish it was a power I could give to them ! I know after this baby we don't need to be so powerful in the fertility department.

You have to use wool yarn, there are plenty of resources for it online and even most craft stores will have some kind of wool yarn. I use the pattern at http://withatangledskein.blogspot.com and it's worked pretty well for Reese.

Hi Ladies,

I'm still here, just so exhausted some days that I don,t have the energy to type... comes with the territory I guess!

I have an u/s appointment for the 8th of May, which seems so far away some days and just around the corner other days. DH let it slip to DSD that I was at a 'Baby sale' this morning, when I was actually picking up clothes for DD, not the little bean, so he ended up telling having to tell his mom about... 8 months before I wanted too She can be a worrywart, and I remember what a stress I found that with my first pregnancy. I am not looking forward to that again.

Sooooooooooooooo tired some days and totally energized others. I wonder if it's the days the baby is having a growth spurt? Cool fact - in week 7 your baby is getting it's own blood type! Neat!

Here's an awesome list for you. Breaks it all down by type (crochet or knit) and style and whether it's free or purchase only etc. Invaluable resource.

Yes to the wool though. You can do blends as well so long as the majority fiber is wool. I knit all ours and love it. You can get some decently priced wool too. I have a pair in Paton's merino and just gussied them a bit to make them seem a bit more...oomphed.

My computer was being naughty the other day so I sent it to the office to have my BIL work on it. It's done but DH forgot to bring it home yesterday (he left town this morning) so now I have to wait until tomorrow. This bites. I just want the luxury of my own computer that no one else can read. We have a home computer that is hooked up to our tv for Netflix stuff so everything I've been doing online the last couple days has been on there. WAY too impersonal for me.

Name: Valarie!

Weeks/Days along: 6wk/2d

Appointments: None yet, but I'll have one as soon as I have insurance in two weeks! I had an hcg test Friday - 13,200! Within normal range

Symptoms: So tired, so hungry, so dizzy, so nauseous...

Food: Yes, please.

Exercise: Pre-Natal Yoga

Body changes and other milestones: Mostly I'm feeling bloated and like I'm gaining weight.

Thoughts: This is pretty hard to go through alone... I'm missing my love more than I ever thought possible. I am always wanting to talk to him and see him, but obviously that just isn't an option. He has been great about calling as much as possible, but feeling so weak and nauseous without him is really starting to take a toll.

Ugh. This pregnancy is turning me into a B*tch! I swear I wasn't this way with my last two. I'm bloated, grumpy, tired and the slightest things set me off. DH is being very sweet and putting up with me because he's convinced this means we're having a girl this time. I'm usually a very sane, rational person. It's very unnerving to have all these emotions all over the place.

Feeling crappy with seasonal allergies that won't go away. I was about to go find some zyrtec or something before I got pg, now I'm trying the natural way. Nettle is supposed to help so I'm drinking lots of the tea. I feel so foggy and stuffed up and itchy all the time, it's hard to concentrate!
Nettle infusion has helped my allergies before. I found it takes a few days for the effect to build up though.

oops! I realized I posted on the old thread. Well, I'm glad it worked for you, and hope it works for me, too!
