We're expecting #3 in about 6 weeks and are still considering whether to CD this time around, it would be our first time. Regardless of that decision, I'd like to use cloth wipes ... but how do I use them? I have made some nice ones from organic cotton fleece and flannel, now what do I need for keeping dirty ones in until they are washed, and how long can they stay around dirty until washed? What else do I need to know? Thanks -

about every 2-3 days toss them in the wash it not overly soiled I would toss them in with towels.
I store wipes (UN-Tp) in the bathroom wetbags and then to the diaper pale which is not reclaimed at the houshold cloth pale.
Wipes are such an excellent step in reducing waste and chemicals off baby.
Congrats!

You could get a wetbag to toss them in once used or use a small trash can with a lid - and even use an old pillowcase as a liner. I would probably wash every 2-4 days.
For our wipes, I put my solution in an old pop bottle and keep it at our chaning table. I keep a stack of wipes in an old disposible wipes container, then just wet the wipes I need as I go.
My wipes solution is approx: 1/2 t. oil (olive, calendula or whatever), 1 t baby wash, and fill the bottle the rest of the way with warm water. Works for us!
We cloth diaper, too, and I love it! I will never go back. THere is some extra work invovled, but I don't find it overwhelming at all. In fact, cloth diapering can be kinda fun! And I love all the money we save and the fact that we're keeping the disposibles out of the landfill. Totally worth it for me. Good luck with your decision!

I spent a lot of time thinking about wipes when I was pregnant and it really turned out to be very easy. My mom made up a bunch of washcloth size wipes for me out of terry material but I wish we would have used flannel. I leave them folded in the bathroom by the sink and I simply wet them with warm water. DD still only has breastfed poos so I don't even bother wetbagging them.

We use cloth wipes for my 3-month old... we just use a water bottle to squirt them (no fancy wipe solution yet)... and we throw them in a diaper bag which is in a wicker basket in our changing area. Then we wash with the dipes... I don't rinse off the breastmilk poops, they come out fine.
But I rinse out the wipes that I use on my 3 year old (who is STILL not going poop in the potty... another story) before I throw them in the diaper bag.
I've started using the extra wipes as toilet paper for me when I go pee. For now, I'm just throwing them in a plastic bag in the drawer in the bathroom, until I find a good container. Put them in with the dipes at the end of the day and wash them all together. Very simple!
