Not the way I intended, but.... we have a beautiful 2 pound 5 ounce baby girl. She was born on Good Friday, 4/10 at 2:58pm and was 14.5 inches long. She is currently in the NNICU, and doing well. She's growing and just trying to get big enough to be able to move to a new nursery.
Tuesday I went in for the regular appt and my fundal height was a little small, so did an US on Wednesday. She was measuring about 3 weeks behind the growth curve. That turned in to a no-stress test, which turned into an overnight hospital observation, which turned into another overnight hospital observation at MUSC (major hospital)... which became a diagnosis of pre-eclampsia, IUGR, and she failed the contraction stress tests miserably.
So, Friday afternoon, I was wheeled in for an emergency c-section. It has been a whilrwind of a few days. We ended up with a baby two months early. A lot to wrap my head around. It was hard to leave her in the NNICU today when I was discharged.
My husband has been a wonderful help. She has the fuzziest blond hair... and today I got to "kangaroo care" her. Basically, skin to skin contact for a good while. It was the best cure I could have had.

I will check back in later, but we're all so exhausted- tryign to get the pumping thing down, juggling visitors, dealing with medications, PE/IUGR, etc.... we're just going to lie down while my mom makes a run to the NNICU to drop off the milk we just pumped. Then we're going to lie down together adn just try to reconnect.
