Any nursing mamas in our DDC? - Page 2

I'm still nursing my 27.5 month daughter (my first December baby!)... although I'm actively weaning her and she hasn't nursed at all today...

I just can't dot anymore-- my boobs hurt SO much and I'm so tired/sick that I just can't...

We snuggle a lot and she still sleeps in our bed, so I get to be close to her...

It is cool that there are so many mamas still nursing in the DDC!

IF I am here, I plan on nursing ds, probably tandem! Before MDC I was against tandem, thought WEIRD! But DS is only 8 months, and I want to go to 2, so yeah, he will be tandem nursing!

Still nursing my 3.5 year old all day long. I have plenty of milk still and little discomfort I am hoping he'll wean at some point.

Me! I am ready to wean my 2.5yo. She has other ideas however. I do not feel the need to tandem since she will be 3yo by the time the baby is born. I need to be more consistent with limiting.

My LO is 22 months, and she only night-nurses. We're trying to slowly and comfortably wean her, and the only reason is that we just have a full-sized bed. Three is pretty cramped, but four would be impossible!

It hasn't been uncomfortable for me at all though. The only thing that's bothered me about it is letting go of nursing DD.

I'm here.

I'm still nursing my now a little over 2 year old. the latch on is painful but once he gets going its ok.

I sort of hope he may not wean entirely so i can get some help with that 'babies asleep but i'm full up' issues.

I'm here. My 3.5 yr old is boob obsessed with no sign of slowing down. If he's not nursing (which I've put limits on), he's talking about his "milp- a- milp" or pretending to nurse outside my shirt, or putting his hands in to feel!

I can see him nursing right through the pregnancy, not caring whether there's milk or not, and being delighted at a full supply again and seeing a newborn nurse and getting to join in!

Already there are times it bugs me...I get really sore breasts with PMS so actually pregnancy hasn't been so bad so far. I have a feeling tandem nursing will be weird for me with him being so big, but I'm not opposed to it if it doesn't freak me out at the time. but we'll see when the time comes! I'm not about to cut him off if he really still needs it.

I'm still nursing my 16 month old. She's mainly a night and morning nurser, maybe during the day at naptime. Its odd, my oldest was a boob addict at that age. I'm curious to see if she'll wean herself during the pregnancy, and hoping to God that she doesn't. I want to nurse until at least two.

Well, it's been almost three days since DS2 has nursed. I think he may actually be weaned. *sigh* bittersweet. At least he's still a snuggle bug.

My daughter was still nursing when my son was born; she was over 3.5 at the time. It was actually a huge help to have a much older nursling, since I tend to have a LOT of milk. When I was engourged in the middle of the night and DS had had his fill, I'd nurse DD in her sleep and she'd quickly take care of the extra milk for me! She gained 5 quick pounds around that time.

That said, I wouldn't be too sad (hopefully) if DS decides to wean himself before this babe arrives.

I'm still nursing my 2 year old DS, approximately 3 times a day and occasionally at night if he wakes up. I don't plan to actively wean him during the pregnancy, and I'm open to tandem nursing, but I won't be at all disappointed if he weans himself before the baby is born.

So far my breasts are just the slightest bit more tender, nothing too bad, and my milk supply is still plentiful.

Me too!
I'm still nursing 21 month old DS. He only nurses in the morning, naptime, and bedtime (my choice not his) and I must admit I am hoping he weans himself when my supply dips. I have thought long and hard and decided that tandem would be harder on him than weaning at this stage

He still nurses a few times a night too, but I think those will be okay to cut out once we are back in our permanent house. I don't think we'd be weaning yet if I wasn't pregnant, and I'm not in a super duper hurry to wean him now, except for the pain. Mostly my family (mom, of course) thinks that I'm doing damage to my (unborn) baby by nursing him. My midwives reaction, however, was "that's great!".

If my milk dries up in the 2nd tri, he'll be just two, which isn't an unreasonable time to wean, I suppose.

Actually, before I knew I was pregnant, I joked with a friend that the only way I'd ever be able to wean him was if I got pregnant! Haha. Little did I know...

This is about where I am with Dd 23mo. I had been getting her down to about 4-5 x's a day and about 2x at night, but all of a sudden she's freaking out, and wanting to nurse ALL the time. argh!!
and I'm getting so sore- the latch on is definitly the worst!
And on top of that I'm afraid I might be getting an infection in one, I'm getting some awfully sharp pains occationally.

ok- I'll stop whining now!

My 27 month old didn't nurse for 3 days, I thought she had weaned and then yesterday she cried for neyneys all day long! I let her nurse and she seemed happy and it wasn't overly painful but I'm not sure if we are weaning or not. LOL!

My ds (18m) has self-weaned this week. He has no interest in nursing. I really hope it's a phase.

my ds is almost 22 months and is nursing. I have been planning on nightweaning the week my dh is done with school for awhile now little did i know that I was pregnant and is even more incentive for me to get some sleep. Mine still nurses several times a night and during the day. He was a high needs baby and sleeper and still is, so mama's milk is a great comfort to him. I have experienced reduced supply already.

I have been experiencing some nipple tenderness and we've been counting down when he's latched on for those times I cant handle it. I will just take it as it comes while pregnant. i dont intend on weaning him and would be fine tandeming once the baby is born. But we'll see how that goes over the next 8 months

Has anyone's nursling suddenly gone milk crazy since you have been pregnant? I swear DS has nursed non-stop from 3am onwards this past week - he has been night weaned for months! I am so tired, and he whining for milk all. day. long. :

Unless I am mistaken the pains are part of pregnancy. Are they just every once in a while a kinf sharp stabbing like pain?

Still nursing our almost 14mo - such mixed feelings. I suppose it will be okay - if I make it into the second trimester without milk drying up, it will still be earlier than we planned on weaning her...
