Website to find old books?

I remember a post a while back about how a mama was trying to find a book from her childhood, and someone mentioned a website that had listings of alot of the books we grew up on, but that might not be published anymore. Does anyone know what i am talking about?

I don't know if this what you were thinking of, but I have found a lot of out of print books on www.alibris.com. It is a sort of clearing house for used book vendors. BTW, Amazon also has a similar feature. It's worth it to check out both because they don't have the same sellers, and sometimes the price differences can be quite big.

Of course this only works if you know the name or author of your book. Although, there is another feature on Amazon that I like a lot, which is that they list other books people have looked at. Actually, thinking about it, Alibris will make reccomendations too based on your puirchases. I have discovered/rediscovered some favorites looking at these lists.

HTH!

I don't know if this is the site you're thinking of, but the Stump the Bookseller feature here has people submitting what they remember about old books and others giving suggestions as to titles. They have a nice archive.
