No. I do not have an obsession with restaurant shows.
:
Anyway, I watched the latest episode of Last Restaurant Standing last night. The show, in case you haven't seen it, is about a bunch (I think 6?) of couples who are competing to win a restaurant from/with Raymond Blanc. Each week, he sees how well they do in their restaurant and the few couples who are the worst have to face the challenge. Just like any reality show, right?
Okay, so last night's show was particularly interesting to me because the "challenge" of the night's service was for them to serve customers with special dietary needs. There was a group of people with CD, a family with a little girl with CD and a group of vegetarians/vegans. IMO (and IME), not that difficult to deal with, right?
Yeah. Holy geez. They ALL screwed up. One couple served the group of people with CD crostini, another served the little girl with CD a pudding with crushed biscuit on top and all the vegans had to eat was sauteed cabbage and a poached pear... and there weren't even enough pears for all of the vegans to get one!
I know it's not surprising to anyone here, but all I could think while watching it was "Man, I hope this gets the message across to SOMEONE!" even though I know that, chances are, it won't.
