So I've lost our little lentil. I hope all the rest of you have wonderful and uneventful pregnancies. I am going to share some of the details of what has and is happening, in case it is useful to anyone ... I would encourage you to skip the rest of this if you are avoiding scary stuff.
well ... I started spotting brown yesterday, after I got home from my 6+ week appointment at the doctors (for normal preg blood work, initial meeting with the nurse, etc). I took it super easy, didn't go to work, drank lots of water and kept my feet up.
I'm afraid I don't have any good news to share.
My spotting turned bright red, and I've had increasing mild-to-strong cramps (as I write this, they are very very strong). I went into the doctor's, and had a vaginal ultrasound. The sac pretty much looked empty, and my Hcg levels are significantly lower than is typical for 6+ weeks. My cervix isn't very open yet, so it looks like it might be a few days until the miscarriage finishes, if it does happen naturally. They offered me a drug to speed it up, but I don't think I need it - I'm really sure I passed the sac this afternoon. So that's it. Except for the VERY strong cramping, I feel ... pregnant. Lame body. I'm trying to hold on to the silver lining (at least we know this can happen, and the placenta looked very normal -- and I know I don't have HIV or a host of other diseases), but - well, I'm having waves of a lot of different emotions.
Everything has been really speeding up. So that's it.
Best to all of you.
