Yellow Fever vax shedding??

I know someone who will be traveling to africa soon and is receiving the yellow fever vax- as well as malaria and several others this next week.

Yellow fever is a live virus vax. Does anyone have any info on possibility of it shedding???

Hmmm....now I'm wondering. 4 of a total of 6 people invited to DS's birthday party recently got a lot of vaxes to go to Africa. Should I be concerned?

There is no malaria vaccine.

Yellow fever itself is not contagious -- it's spread by mosquitoes.

So even if your friend was shedding, and the variety of YF that is used in the live vaccine had the potential to harm you, they'd have to be biten by a mosquito that later bit you.
