staph in diapers?

i pulled ds out of cloth at 11mo because he had a diaper rash that *would not go away* which the doctor diagnosed as a probable staph infection. no tests were run, but with treatment, he was fine and totally healed up in 6 weeks or so, but i pulled him from cloth in the meantime to keep him from reinfecting himself. by the time i was ready to put him back in, he was a stubborn toddler and had definite ideas about what he would and would NOT wear so we stuck with sposies until he was potty trained. :

SO, my question is, as my due date approaches with this little one, are my diapers safe to use (this has been a year and a half)?! if not, can they be cleaned and made safe? and should i only be worried about my prefolds and pockets and not be concerned about covers and wetbags or is it all contaminated? i REALLY don't want to have to start from scratch!!!! HELP!

When my son had staph and I was worried about putting him back in the diapers once it had been treated, I washed them all (even the PUL and elastic and wetbags, etc.) with a bit of bleach (1-2T in my frontloader; probably a bit more if I had a toploader) and then line-dried them in the sun for a FULL day (like, 8am until about 6pm). I never had any problems with the bleach hurting the diapers or the wetbags. I mean, I wouldn't do it on a regular basis, but I figured it was either try the bleach or get an entirely new diaper stash (staph is nasty to deal with), and to my delight, it worked.
