I think it's a pretty interesting blog, but I'm not super impressed. I'm sort of a blog snob, which is ironic, because my blog is still so raw and new, but anyway...

Good for her, I guess.

I'm jealous.
me too

What do you mean by blog snob?

I didn't realize that. I'll have to update my Reader, maybe it is some setting I have on or something.

she's obviously on the pro-vax paylist - check out her 'momversation' video...she didn't do that on her own

Just that I'm really picky about the blogs I read. It has to be really interesting and offer something fresh to catch my attention.

personally I find her blog boring - we have bloggers here on MDC that are way better! seriously

I agree with the general consensus here. Didn't know about her until Oprah, had to check her out, didn't really "get" it but was still intrigued that she was making $$$ by blogging. Then I started watching those nauseating "momversations" and got so sick of the intentional-doe-eye-into-the-camera thing (however, big props for the circ vid ) that I too have to shout from the rooftops that the blogs I've found from MDC are way more interesting. A special shout-out to www.twwly.com. :

Yeah, I don't get it either. I've seen her before on a talk show and I just watched her talk about it, then checked her blog out and was so unimpressed.

I blog mostly for myself and to help others look for something (mostly fun stuff for kids activities/science projects and dealing with selective mutism/anxiety issues in my daughter). I don't advertise, I don't ever plan to and generally speaking blogs that advertise I turn away from. I also don't care for mainstream thinking either. I don't talk about controversial topics because I get too emotionally involved. It would make me a wreck.

I like blogs more like this that help make me a better parent

PhD in Parenting

lots of great AP/pro-bf stuff and a great Carnival of Play she hosted and I was able to participate in (and I won a book on PLAY).

I became a follower of your blog.

I had never heard of it before this thread. But it's just TOO big for me. 400+ comments per post? I like a blog small enough that I can actually read and respond to what others have said if I want. Plus, reading the posts on the front of her page. I think I'd find myself just angry and annoyed if I read her regularly. I like to read blogs by people I wish were my real life friends. I wouldn't want to be friends with her.

I think her writing is good, but I don't like what she has to say. I think her edginess is forced and I'm not a prude but her open, blunt talk about certain subjects seems put on rather than revealing. It's like she's saying, "See how cool I am when I speak openly about certain things? See how gritty I am?"

No, that's not what I see, but I guess others do.

I've not read her for a long time, but I gather that she had severe PPD after the birth of her daughter and wrote extensively about that in very raw, unfiltered terms. I think that got a lot of people's attention.

I think she's sarcastic and crude. If she were sarcastic and political, or sarcastic and AP, or sarcastic and unschooly, I'd be all for it! :

I just found her blog yesterday, and decided to search for mentions on MDC. Personally, I love it. I have read something like 200 pages of her blog since yesterday (yeah, I need to quit before I get fired for READING her blog... that would certainly one-up her getting fired for writing it, right?!)

But, I also generally have no problem with crude. And I generally fall somewhere between mainstream and crunchy on the scale of the two, so I'm not offended by her mainstreamness.

And I think she's just freakin' hilarious.

I also love Pioneer Woman. I was just having a conversation with a friend today about who I want to befriend more... it was a tough choice

Poor babies, society tells their mamas that CIO is a good thing.
