Hi All,

I am new to the board and I am looking forward to getting more information and being a part of this group.

Currently, I have stopped vaccinating my children. However, I am very nervous as my oldest child is ready to start kindergarten and I am unsure of what exepmtion form to us. I have a religious form filled out for my stated however, we are currently living overseas and my child will be attending the DoDD schools. What are my options and what exemption form should I use. I am concerned I am going to have more problems due to the fact it is a DoDD school. Any suggestions???
Thank you!!!

Welcome to the forum. I have no advice for you, sorry, but I am sure others will come and help you out.

We use a religious exemption in the US and have no problems with it.

Where are you living?

We will be moving ever 2-3 yrs overseas. My children will either be attending DoDD schools or private International schools. Either way, it seems that the general religious exemption may not be accepted as one is DoDD and the other is private schools that do not have to accept the exepmtion forms. I really feel stuck on this.....I do not feel 100% comfortable finishing the vaccines yet my children need to go to school.......

I look forward to any help or advice anyone has. If anyone has dealt with this situation, please let me know how it was handled.

Take it one move at a time, researching the local law, not worrying about the next one until it happens. I'm sorry I don't have info on the DoDD schools, but I'm someone will. It has been discussed here before. Even if they will not accept exemptions each area has their own list of required vaccines and number of them per vaccine different from the CDC recommended list and might even have wording allowing for titers to be checked or written parent or physician note stating the child has immunity from contracting the disease. So there are still options.

I don't know what a DoDD school is but a private school must accept religious exemptions if they get any government funding - at least here in the States.

Overseas. You mean somewhere in Europe? If it's in the EU, let us know where. We do know the vaccine laws from those countries and have some posters from various EU countries.

Montessori or Waldorf schools are very accommodating.

Thank you all for the response and support. We currently live in Asia (Korea) and each move will be outside of the US. We are hoping to go to Germany next and every post after this one they should be attending private schools not DoDD. I know most private school will accept the exemption.

I have looked through the archive and read some old post about exepmtions for DoDD. From what I have read and also looking at the website, it appears it can be quite a fight. I think it does depend on the people in charge post to post but overall, I think it is much more difficult to get accepted. It states something about the exemption has to be approved, ect......

I am just really concerned as he will start in Aug. He is due for the boosters (4 shots) and if I am forced to get them, I prefer to do them 1 or 2 at a time and space them out. That is why I am trying to get any information I can so if I HAVE to do them I can do 2 now, wait 2 months then do the last 2.

Any more suggestions or information is welcomed. I would prefer not to have to get them as it does go against my personal and religious beliefs. Thanks!!!

Germany has NO vaccine mandates for school or day care. NONE!

As for the rest, I will leave it to someone else.
