What does your Nursling call it? - Page 2

Buh-buh

It sounds, unfortunately, like Bubba.

My boys called it nursie, b/c that's what I called it. Dd invented her own word and has used 'buh-buh' for a long time now.

uh-uh-uh

My 16 month old came up with "uh-uh'-uh" (accent on the middle uh)and he makes the milk sign. he's been doing this for a couple of months. I've always called it "milk". It seems so odd.

DD (18 months) calls it "Ta." Before she was verbal, I couldn't decide what to call it--I wavered between nay-nays because I thought it was cute, and tee-ta because that's what me and my siblings called it. But DD made her own choice, hehe

These are all so cute!

DD is 2, and she calls it dupidas. Sounds like doo-pi (short i sound, like pit)-das. No idea how she came up with that .

My girls: Nummy-nums/numma-nums/numma- numma-nums. By the age of two, dd1 had also adopted a friend's term: Chi-chi and dd2 started saying "Nurse, Mama, nurse!" She's 3.5yo now, I am 40+ weeks pregnant, totally out of milk, and she's still nursing and using this term.

My favorite term is used in my MW's family: They say Boo-Joo (Boob Juice). *J is pronounced like french 'J' in Jacques. They've even taken to calling thier youngest Booj.

I wish my 17 month old would call it something!! He's still not talking but when he wants to nurse, he'll get up in my lap, get horizontal and start fussing. Like I'm supposed to know what he wants in that position.

But we do call them "ninnies". So my three year old, and everyone else is trying to get Zach to say ninny when he wants to nurse.

My 18 month old has called my chest "THAT!" since he was 12 months old. He's not discriminating either- wherever we are, be it at home on the couch or in line at the grocery store, he points his finger at my chest and says "THAT!" He doesn't mess around when it comes to his milky (which is what I call it).

That's it. Just milk.
Mine just started intermittently using "Milk" interchangeably with "THAT", which is adorable to me.

21 month old dd does the sign for milk while simultaneously making a deep gulping sound! She started the gulping sound a few months ago on her own and uses it ALL the time

DD calls it mi-mi (sounds like me-me). I only ever signed and called it milk. I think it started out as a cross between mom and milk and then just stuck.

I can't wait to hear what my lovey starts calling it! My sisters kids call it "mama's milk" and a friend's son called it "nursies" (or maybe that was just the breast - I don't remember now).

DS has always called it Milkies. A new name for it is Mookosor any rhyming version of that.

Dd is 11 months and just this last week or two had been making a sound specifically for nursing. Unfortunetly this sound, sounds slot like "tit" : with an emphasis on the last T

I think maybe she is saying "that". But who knows, Dp is convinced she calls them tits. We never say that word though!

I always say "would you like to nurse?"
Or "do you want milk?" hmmm wierd.

But she also uses the milk sign. Recently she instead of opening andclosing her fist, she squeezes her fist as hard as she can, makes a mmmmmm noise then says "TIT" !!!

Haha oh well, I hope it's just a phase!

the baby says "nah-nahs"

the bigger kids say "mama's milk"

my grandma says "saggy baggies"

For a while, DD said "muk". Usually several times in a row, like "muk. muk. muk. muk. mukmukmuk." But a couple weeks ago she started saying "milk" quite properly. And yesterday she said "milk cow" when she wanted cow milk instead of mommy milk. She's growing up so fast!
