I've been up for an hour. I'm hoping this is it. If not, though, at least it proves that my body does remember how to have contractions!

TMI, I had an enema last night because my plumming is seriously obstructed. It was akward, but I was desparate. LO was nudging in my pelvis and it HURT SO FREAKING BAD! My legs felt like they would snap like a wish bone and my bum was spasming in sync with that going on. Oh the cruelty!

Up bright and early this morning. Maybe this is the burst I needed for nesting.

Drink lots of water today. Thats my culprit. Dehydration, and if I'm stuffy, lack of oxygen will trigger a headache.

I've been fearing ogliohydramnios (sp?) because I've lost 10 lb in one week. I feel the definition of this baby, as in grab her legs. Thats kinda scary. So, my main goal is trying to replenish with lots and lots of water: 24 oz in an hr, all day! As a result, since doing this yesterday, my headaches went away. Of course, the trade off is frequent visits to the bathroom.

I sort of slept in after a usual night of waking up a lot. Now planning things to do for the day. Cleaning is high on the list as is getting LOs room finalized. But it's so nice outside that it almost screams for another day trip. Sigh.

Okay, no woe is me in this post. My guess is the PP mamas are overwhelmed by daily chat threads. I would be. Those days can go by in a crazy blur at the beginning.

I think we'll take dinner to the beach tonight, its so beautiful out. My acupuncturist friend is coming over to do a treatment on me (just as a friend-- no charge) during our kids' naptimes, yay! I'm also thinking a nice long walk with DH this late morning and I'll read through a couple of articles I printed out the other day related to my research. I actually found a lot of great material to really beef up this paper I wrote which I have to expand and refine before the end of the summer, so I'm feeling good about that. (I know, "before the end of the summer" sounds like a long time away but IME that can go fast!) I think DH and my mom are going to both go to a midday figure drawing class (they are both artists, this is what they do for fun) but I still think we'll have a nice day and I won't have to manage too much grouchy-pregnant-mom solo childcare.

39 weeks today, and just had my first dream about having the baby. He was out and he was really great, but then I suddenly realized that I didn't remember labor! I looked down and my stomach was smaller, so I said to DH, "I don't remember the labor! Was it traumatic?" And he said, "Yeah, kinda." Turned out that my bottom had all torn and they had to sew my anus back on. But it was kind of a hack job because one of the student midwives was a vegan (?) so she couldn't work on me. THANKS, BRAIN!

As labor is nowhere in sight, I've decided to have a normal Sunday. DP made pancakes for us this morning. The girls went for a dip in my still-filled birth pool. DP and I will drop the girls off at their grandparents' house for 5 hours of visiting while we run errands, etc. Maybe we'll take a walk together by the waterfront and then make my belly cast.
I'm still taking the pulsatilla and hoping it will help baby change position before labor comes back. I've been spending time at the spinning babies website and have been finding more suggestions.
I am re-focusing on staying positive so that I don't scare labor away ...

I'm starting to hate other women who are you ladies on this due date board.

I'm on facebook and posted that the one thing that sucks more than your due date with no baby....is the day after your due date. There responses make me want to go off on them. I know they are trying to be nice, but dude stop reminding my that many women go 41 weeks or longer and that baby isn't done cooking yet and I need to let go of the negativity and should be enjoying being pregnant.

Just gets me more pissed off.

It's like hugs are fine, reminding me I still could have a while? Uhm no, not fine. Why are you reminding a very pissy pregnant woman that??? Cause that so isn't comforting

I hear you, though it doesn't totally upset me, but it isn't comforting to me at all, it's more annyoing. Especially those who aren't pregnant who keep saying "oh she will come when she's ready" This really irks me. All I want is an "I know" and hugs. Maybe even a "that really sucks". There are days I just can't get past the dissapointment and I just have to let myself go through it and usually by the next day I'm okay. It's pretty much an every other day thing for me. One day I can accept it and go about my normal day, but the next I'm just soooo emotional, crying, bummed out, cranky and all I think about all day is how to get this baby out. Those days I pray all day long "please God, let this baby come today, or at least let some labor things start happening so I feel like I"m doing something."

Nancy - Is the baby still small enough for the kicks to hurt? I feel my lo is...not slowing down...but I guess running out of room cause she CANT move her legs. Whats yours like?

Fruitful - not TMI at all! And you feel better today?! Sounds like it worked!! Oh and is 24oz and hour safe to drink? I live in that town where the lady died from drinking too much water a couple years ago, for a radio contest, so drinking tons of water scares me!!!

Melissa - I agree with the water suggestion, My DH drives me insane telling me to drink more when I dont feel well, but honestly, that normally helps make me feel better!! And about the FB responses, Im not even at my due date but I seriously want to karate chop every person who asks me about it and makes comforting comments.

fischk- I keep complaining that Im wasting these nice days too! I dont want to clean, I want to ride bikes and enjoy spring! Hope you get lo room done fast so you can go outside.

emma - It sounds like you have been having a great couple weeks, with the weather and the activities youve done. A picnic on the beach sounds amazing. Its probably so nice to get all this private time with DH before baby gets here.

oolong tea- that dream was CRAZY!!! lol. I love the vegan mw part!!! Im 39 wks tomorrow and Ive only had 1 birth/baby dream too. Hopefully, its because were about to blow!!

Benny - sounds like you have a great day planned too! For the past couple days Ive been acting like Im not preg too and its been helping with my anxiety. What does pulsatilla do? I looked it us and said something about dysentery!

Shine - for you too!!! I dont remember the last weeks being torture with dd1 but I would go as far as to say these last couple weeks have been HORRIBLE with the anxiety, the questions/comments from family, friends and strangers, the not knowing. UGH!!!!!

Melissa and Shine, be angry about the whole thing. You have the right to be mad at the world, so let it out. Being 9 months pregnant is just not very pleasant, and there is not consolation.

And yes, the people on Facebook keep getting to me, too. I get at least 4 comments a day from people who don't normally write on my wall; every time, I tell them I'm leaving the house, they think I'm off to the hospital. And just now, my mom told me that she's almost certain the baby will come today. And I'm not even feeling any signs of prelabor...

Benny, focus on being positive. It's a good idea. Keeps you from going insane. And the waterfront down in south NC is awesome. Enjoy the day and the view.

Lindsay, keep up enjoying the day, assuming that you do. Hope you did get outside. I know what you mean about LO running out of space; my baby seems to kick less and squirm more.

I just finished assembling a shelf for DH's office. All his books are currently in LO's room (his old office). Now time for lunch.

Still here too. Yesterday was my due date and everyone is calling to ask how I am, when baby is coming, etc. No, she's not here yet. When she is, we will call you!

So, I can totally empathize with you all.

My friend from out of town leaves on Friday, and my other birth attendant is going to NYC on the 26th! So, if baby decides to really stay in there, I loose both women I chose to be at my birth. C'mon baby! I walked about 2 miles yesterday, have been walking walking walking, sex, RRL tea... Baby is well positioned. Was station 0, cervix 1 cm, 50% eff on Thurs, but still no crampy productive ctx at all. Just these ol' BH I have been having since week 14. My pelvis feels as though it's about to fall to pieces and I can barely walk at the end of the day. Ugh.

I have been enjoying looking at all the beautiful babies from our ddc. Getting a bit envious though!

As far as facebook goes, I changed my status to "Nadine is still pregnant" to keep the inquiry at a minimum.

It's more squirming than kicking. Way active all the time, and the bladder pressure is killer. Peanut's legs go out to the side a lot. My guess is left occiput posterior.

The beach sounds awesome, emma. Yesterday, I had to force sunscreen on my husband (yes, he's more like a DS1) and the smell of it so took my mind to the beach. I can't wait to bring baby to the beach.

As for facebook, I am very blunt when people say stupid things. Only twice I got: "No baby yet?" I replied, "Why do people ask that?" That took care of it. Now I just get supportive comments on my complaints. I don't just "friend" anyone, so most people know me and generally try not to further instigate. Of course, some do like to push my buttons and that, I don't mind.

So, I'm having a lot of 'tightening' of the uterus today. At what point do you really consider something a "contraction?" I feel like this is next to nothing, but maybe I'm just used to it? Slightly crampy, overall tighening in my belly, and uncomfortable walking.... ?

I'm sure it will amount to nothing, although I did eat about a third of a pineapple. (haha)

It's weird that I guess I could go into labor at any time. I really don't feel like I ever will. It is something that can just suddenly start happening? I may have been expecting more of a build-up to the event. Bleh.

I had to run about the house getting some clothes, diapering stuff, blankets, hats etc into a user friendly spot for a pp mama

DH is at our neighbors with Eden and DD1 and I'm getting some computer time.

I need to talk to dh about tomorrow, I'm not sure if he's going to work or??? I know that last week he had lined up someone to watch all the kids. DS1 is on school vacation and the lo's don't have pre-school/daycare. TBH I'm not really sure why things are closed for the lo's
