I so wanted to see it. Unfortunately, we only have local stations... so I'll have to wait until it's on DVD (or I can find it online.)

I thought they both have been great in all of the clips I've seen. I love that Drew fought for the role...and got it.

Did they show bits of the actual documentary that was made in the 70s?

D'oh! I forgot to record it. Will have to go to on demand and get it there. I saw the original a couple of years ago and was so excited to hear it was being done as a movie!

I saw it, and thought it was good. I have always liked Drew Barrymore, so it was great to see her in such a meaty role. I never saw the original, so I'm sure I didn't get the full significance.

But I did have a dream about it last night. Long story short, my DD and I were hanging with the Obamas in the Oval Office (I know, but this is a dream .) The Oval Office had fallen into a horrible state of neglect, just like Grey Gardens. And I kept thinking, "OMG, does the federal government not have ANY money to keep this place up?"

Oh, and I've been doing some reading online about GG's and came across a number of websites, this one in particular http://www.greygardensonline.com/ has basically anything you'd want to know. It's your "one-stop source for all things GG." I spent the better half of my afternoon surfing around it. These women were pretty fascinating. It's all so interesting to me.

I don't recall any footage from the documentary

the song that Edie and Little Edie sang is getting stuck in my head a lot lately. I find myself singing the line about a sugar cake a lot.

Finally watched it. Waaaay good! Some things that stuck out to me....

Big Edith was so controlling manipulative and needy

The scene with Jackie O was very moving and tense. I loved when Little Edie said she could have been First Lady and Jackie responded she wished she would have

I want that pretty wallpaper in Big Edith's room

I loved the Jackie O scene too.

when they talked about some cousin hanging with Andy Warhol, was that Edie Sedgewick? I know she was a cousin of Kyra, but didnt know there was a Jackie O connection.....
