Every once in a while lately I'll get a strong contraction that I feel in my rectum. I asked my OB on friday about this (I'm 35 wks tonight) and she said its a good sign meaning the baby is nicely head-down. I only have this happen about 1-2 times a day right now, so nothing consistent. Any of you feeling this?

Yes, and once labour starts, they get extremely painful (I know this from my first). Just make sure that your BMs are regular and you don't go in labour with full bowels or you'll be asking for an epidural - trust me (raspberry leaf tea seems to work nicely for me to keep the BMs regular and the stools soft).

I get really crampy and miserable when I am about to have a BM. It kind of feels like labor is starting. Once its over I feel fine again. I remember in early labor I was cleaning out like crazy so I think if you are naturally in labor your body kind of does its thing. As for ctx in the bum. YES! I had a posterior baby and the whole thing was in my back and butt. Nothing in the front after they broke my water. It was torture.
I just remembered that there is a thread in Birth and Beyond called something about "butt labor" You might like to dig it up and read it!

I have not had that but I do feel baby movements in my butt (unless that is actually painless contractions, I dunno). And I've been getting a tad constipated lately, I think because while I did not up my official iron supplement dose, after the MW told me it was just a bit low, I've been better about actually taking my supplements. I was just thinking this morning that I want to make sure I'm not constipated at ALL closer to Birth Day.
