Best way to CD a newborn - Page 2

I have all of the fancy diapers but I always come back to the prefolds with wool covers. They are easy to do. You can adjust the absorbancy without adding drying time and I think that they are easy to store. I never fold them. I have a shelf above my changing table and I keep my liners, doublers, and prefolds all in their happy piles. NO folding. I take them off the closeline and stack them accordingly and then just put them away.

fairly early on we found that middle of the night changes we're too difficult with prefolds in the dark. So we started using fitteds for middle of the night. Of course that's what started me thinking fitteds were so easy and convenient and from there it was a slippery slope to pockets. This time I've decided we'll use fitteds and wool or pockets under one piece clothing items or jeans or knit pants, then we'll use prefolds as back ups. Also I plan on doing part-time ec, so I like having a lot of prefolds to clean up messes.

i can change a prefold pretty easily in the dark and half asleep. the trick is remembering where you put the snappi!
this of course only applies to pee.. i had a poop diaper last night that required the closet light being turned on..
