wipes recommendations? and BRU vent

I bought prince lionheart bamboo wipes and warmer at BRU and it has been such a disappointment! first I bought them because a sign said 50% off. Then they told me the wipes were only 50% off with the purchase of the warmer. Ok, I wanted a warmer anyway so I bought it and two packages of wipes. They were 8 for 9.99, 50% off. Then they said it was only 50% off ONE package of wipes, not more. Ugh!

So I bought it anyway. I got it home and it all looked really cool. The box had wipes recipes with water and olive oil and essential oils, etc. Looked very cool. We washed and dried the wipes per instructions and they came out really soft and thick, I loved them! Then I washed and dried them a second time... three or four came out shredded! So I am returning them. I'm so disappointed!

I really want some nice cloth wipes. I liked the bamboo. What else is out there and what are the prices? I used homemade flannel wipes before and they were okay but not very thick and didn't hold up for long. I am going to buy some baby washcloths at BRU until I find something else. If I had known I would have ordered some wipes yesterday when I ordered some cds online.

TIA.

Quilter's Nappies flannel/velor wipes are really nice. They grab the poop and wash great! I've been using mine for a year. They are a little faded and some of the flannel pilled a little, but there are no other signs of wear and tear.

ETA: She restocks every week.

I really love kissaluvs knit terry wipes. They have a smooth side for just wiping down a bottom, but the thicker side is great for the messy clean-ups. I can count the number of times I've needed more than 1 wipe at a diaper change because they are so great at cleaning really well. I've also had mine for over a year and they are absolutely no different than when I bought them.

I'm not sure how much they cost, though-- I got mine as part of a fuzzi bunz starter package from Kelly's Closet.

How do you like the wipe warmer? I am registered for it at Target, but I didn't know you could get wipes for it too. Can you use regular baby wash cloths or cloth wipes in it?

My favorite wipes are flannel-velour or flannel-sherpa. Both are nice and plush and if you fold the 8x8 size in half, they'll fit nicely into a regular wipe container.

We used plain old washclothes. They were inexpensive and washed up nice. The terry cloth got softer with each wash and they cleaned bottoms pretty nice. After our stash started getting sparse I found some really nice organic terry at a fabric store. Bought a few yards and had a family member serge around the edges. They worked great and I paid WAY less than premade organic wipes would have been.

i like the two sided wipe from GMD. They work well in our wipes warmer. It's DEX brand... don't know if that makes a difference. I just use water on the wipes and spray the kissaluvs diaper spray (got the concentrate at GMD too) on her bum at the time. nice and soft!

I bought that warmer and wipes, saw how crappy the wipes looked, and took it all back. I use my peri bottle and squirt some water on a wipe each time I need one. I realized I wasn't comfortable with having the warmer plugged in and the energy it would use. Plain, room temp tap water is working out just fine.

I have a bunch of flannel wipes that are good, but I want something nicer too. I like the idea of bamboo, just not those BRU ones.

We use these:

They were so soft when they arrived. If you want to preserve that as long as possible, line dry them. We sometimes toss them into the dryer. They're not as soft but work just as well. One side is textured for bms and the other is nice when baby just peed. We use them along room temperature water in a spray bottle mixed with some tea tree oil and grapeseed extract.

I never used a warmer, and I found that just holding the wipe balled up in my hand for 10 seconds or so would warm it up enough in chilly weather that it didn't bother my kiddos. Quick and easy.

I love Thirsties Fab Wipes. They are super absorbant, very soft, and really durable.

I have never used a wipes warmer. I just moisten a wipe under the tap, as needed.
