Found a recipe using both!

I don't know what fish sauce is, but it sounds horrible.

I have no life today, I swear.

I really want some pineapple now, but only because it sounds yummy. Knowing my luck I'd get some *not* wanting to go into labor and it'd actually work for me.

Mmm... we've been putting basil in everything lately! We got a bundle with roots from the grocery store and planted it, and surprisingly it took! So DH throws it in with everything we make. Come on, basil...

Fish sauce is exactly what it sounds like... it's made from fish somehow and used as a condiment or additive (usually in curries and stuff like that) and I think it's been fermented. Yum...

FIsh sauce is what makes Thai food so yummy! Used in small amounts it is a subtle yet very salty flavour. The first time you open a bottle at home you'll think it smells like rotten fish, but it is VITAL to some delicious dishes, I swear!

A friend of mine had Chipotle before both of her labors. Sounds like major heartburn to me. I tried spicy food last time and it just made my bum hurt. And I tried castor oil, and that made my bum hurt. I am not doing either this time.

Even when dh made me a smoothie that was pretty much just from a bag of frozen mixed fruit that happened to have pineapple in it, THAT hurt me. Canned is fine though. And I looooove pineapple!
It burns the same way on the other end if you eat too much. And that's all I'm gonna say.

This is turning out to be a real gross out thread. Fish sauce, eggplant, diarrhea, too much candy, pineapple burn, ew. So is anything tasty *and* good for starting labor?

I agree JamieCatheryn! I'll just skip all the flavors and take the castor oil!!

I remember last time my mom made me this carob fudge (which was pretty aweful btw) and I went into labor the night. We dubbed it Carob Cervi-blow. I don't know if I could eat it again though.

I ate a whole pineapple last week. Nuthin. But some eggplant curry sounds nice! Fish sauce isn't too bad. Its kind of sweet and savory and blends well with curry. Aww, crap. That reminds me. I made a coconut curry chicken soup yesterday and forgot the fish sauce. Oh well its already in the freezer.

I saw some pineapple in the store today and it looked really good but then I thought about this thread and decided to pass... Don't want Labor or a burning bum just yet!
