Well, I went in to the doctor on the morning of April 14th and was told I was dilated 1/2 a cm and measuring 38.5 weeks...I was basically told "see you in a week" because there was no way the baby was coming before my due date...
He had other plans
Around midnight I woke up thinking I had wet the bed...and then continued wetting myself. My parents drove me to the hospital "just to check" and I started having contractions (this was an hour later) At 7:12am on April 15th Franklin made his entrance into the world!!! (Yep, only 7 hours of labor for my first baby...we have quick babies in this family!) It was an uncomplicated birth. I ended up begging for an epidural because my labor was progressing so quickly. (The nurse that admitted me checked to see how dilated I was and she felt me go from 3 to 4...I was at 6 about 30mins later)
DH got to come down the next day to spend the weekend with us. It was nice to see him.
Breastfeeding is going awesome. The baby took to it very naturally and the pain isn't too bad.
