nancy - Yes I'm tired of missing things due to being pregnant. Thankfully I know I only have 1 more week to go for sure, regardless if he likes it or not now. I've already had to miss my grandfathers funeral, family get togethers, and going and doing other things because i'm afraid of meing too far away and going into labor.

Risk it murph...

It's guaranteed to make you go into labor to tempt the labor gods....

It works as well as pineapple....

I had a certain burst of energy this morning and cleaned out the girls closets/dressers, out with the winter clothes and in with the summer! Gabrielle is sleeping, I really wanted to nap with her but Madeline has piano and I was afraid I'd sleep too long and we'd be late. I'm too lazy to figure out the new alarm.

I've tried pineapple - no go...I've tried sex, nipple stimulation, even a little caster oil, nada, spicy foods, walking, rocking/rolling/bouncing on birthing ball - nada nada nada, have had membranes stripped twice...

You'd think a person whose cervix has been 3 cm for three weeks, and now 4 cm for 2 weeks and am 90 or more % effaced wouldn't take much to start labor... The midwives keep saying it's such a favorable cervix for labor starting...

Since i'm even further i guess i could try it all again, but I'm tired and don;t feel like doing any of it. I feel like sleeping and sleeping and sleeping.

This weekend I'll be trying more though because i'd like to avoid the induction on next tuesday

fun stuff

Xerxella, sorry about your boss. She should not scream at you even if you weren't pregnant. Are you working until the baby comes or will you take some time off?

Nancy, I hear you. The thought of staying at the hospital for two days sounds horrible, as much as I want LO out. I feel confined staying in my house for more than a few hours, so how am I supposed to stay in one room for 48 hours+? And yes, I am also sick of missing out on things because of the pregnancy...

Murph, go do things. I've tried the going-away-to-get-into-labor-thing, and it does not work at all. I'm tempted to go to Canada to see if that helps since I would have to cross an international border to get back to my hospital (not that easy for me) and then drive 1 1/2 hours to the next hospital but maybe that is too extreme. And if my son is born in Canada, I would have to deal with embassies and the like and that seems to extreme.

Peony, I had a burst of energy for about 2 hours, too, which I spent sorting through boxes that have been unopened from the last move. But then I was done even though there are still clothes to be sorted. Now, I'm waiting around again.

emma, swimming sounds awesome. And weightlessness sounds heavenly. Sorry that not all of your days can be like that. I'll see if I can send you some rain from up here. It's been cold and rainy all day.

I've tried all that two, excpet for the membranes as I'm not dialted, unfortunatly. Did accupuncture this morning. He said I'd know in 24 hours if my body is ready. Otherwise come back in a week, but he didn't think I'd make it that long. So here's hoping he's right!!!! It was more relaxing this time, so I guess I"d say I don't hate accupuncture...but I'd much rather spend the money on a massage!
hmmm accupuncture - i wonder if anyone does that in the bigger town over from me, and how much it costs...
I'm trying the accupuncture, it is relaxing, but no baby yet. I agree with you, Shine, maybe I should've spent the money on a massage. But, insurance doesn't even cover part of a massage....

So, I'm trying walking stairs. Walking down does seem to wake up the baby and put alot of downward pressure. But, I really don't think anything's happening. I have a mw appt. this afternoon, but I don't think she'll say anything interesting.

Murph - I was kinda kidding about the pineapple, it hasn't worked for me yet. I've heard sleeping is supposed to bring on labor... (That's the sarcastic voice again...)

Fishk - the boss calmed down, she's usually fine, I guess she was just having a moment. I'll stay FT til the baby comes, then after about 9 weeks off, I'm coming back PT, which I just adore. 2 days a week is a perfect combo for me of mommy time and adult time and money

Hey ladies, the swimming really *was* nice. I can't fit it in today, but plan to go tomorrow again- a friend gave me 4 free passes to the really nice JCC down the road that has a kids wading pool AND a grownup pool AND a spa pool (not that I can go in there now but maybe PP? And, yuck, I had way more edema and fluid retention stuff after I gave birth last time, actually I've never had that with either of these pregnancies). If you can even just pay a day fee to go hang out at a pool, I recommend it. I hear its cold and nasty back east right now, but you guys have indoor pool facilities at least...

Nancy, I never really packed a hospital bag last time. It was fine. Sorry that you are missing opening day! You'll be there next year with your ALMOST ONE YEAR OLD to cheer you on.

I thought I'd try walking stairs and curbs today... its one-dollar-cone day at Baskin Robbins AND free cone day at Ben and Jerry's, ugh, too many choices!! Taking DS shortly to his swim class (on the bus) and then we'll come back for dinner, then a walk out to ice cream. All that marching around ought to be good for getting a baby excited to be born, right?

I am so anxious to play. My brain is programmed to play softball every summer and it's so hard to watch the first few games go by.

PEANUT, PLEASE COME OUT NOW!!!!

Ok, I feel very, very pg tonight. Everything hurts, I keep getting contractions every now and then but they aren't even worth looking at a clock for. Course the BH that I always have are still going in full force.

I decided today that I am never ever going to ask a pg woman how she is feeling. I'd always ask friends, figuring that was a polite and safe comment, never commenting on how pg they were, if EDD went by, etc... I swear that I was asked that 50 times today, by the time the last person asked me, which was at DH's office, I couldn't do more then snarl at him.

yea Peony - the guy who called on the phone to try to get me to donate money got an earful of No, I'm over pregnant and have no money

Peony - IM HERE WITH YOU!!!! Ive started YELLING at my friends because they leave messages on my vcmail, laughing and asking if Ive given birth, very sarcastically. (even though my vcmail says "Youve reached Lindsay, Im not in labor and I havent given birth, I promise I will call each and every one of you when I do)
Im thinking that I need to switch it to "Im getting upset at everyone asking me about the birth. Im anxious enough, please stop calling me!!"
And I love the "oh! Twins!!!" comments I get from loud older women. Makes my day!:

I feel SO preg today, I literally feel like the baby cant grow another millimeter, Im at a bursting point!!

Went to the Y today and swam for the first time in a long time and it felt amazing!!!!! Except....when I had to haul my huge stomach OUT of the pool! I felt like I was double the size!!

Im getting SO anxious about this baby, I was FINE and excited a couple weeks ago, now Im just nervous and tense!

Something funny though. I got an appointment reminder from the ob today. It was for an appointment for me on friday at the CIRCUMCISION CLINIC!!! What the heck?! Im having a GIRL!! I laughed SOOOO hard when I saw that!!!!

Well, I know its already tomorrow for a lot of you but its only 9:30 here so I'll post in today. DH got hired for a new job, starting tomorrow. This will obviously allow the baby to be born, since I will surely have to have TWO kids with the uncanny ability to play havoc with our professional lives...

Opted for the Ben and Jerry's free cone after dinner, which was a good choice! DS and I walked over there for a little mom-and-boy special time (its about 30 min each way to walk). Also, I've had diet-controlled gestational diabetes which seems to have evaporated into thin air lately... my blood sugars have actually been getting low- creeping towards abnormally low ranges... I'm going to slowly try eating more normally. So, I ate the ice cream AND the cone and it was GOOD. Oh man. Its been about 12 weeks since I've had something that decadent.

YUM to ice cream!

today the cell rang and it says the first and last name of who's calling so i didn't answer it...i knew she was calling to ask if i've had the baby... sure enough when i check the messages she was wondering if I didn't pick up because I was in labor... (how far can i roll my eyes back into my head) Even though i've explained to family they'll be called and everyone else will know really soon since my room will have computer access so even if it's late at night I'm sure me and/or dh will sign on to announce it on facebook and a quick emain (an here) to say baby arrived.

The one;s I really like is when you actually answer the phone and they ask if you are in labor??? Are you kidding me?? I finally starting answering yes and asked if I should stay on the phone with them or go to the hospital.

Woot! Congrats on the job! :

I had one of DH's employees call MY cell phone on Monday because DH wasn't answering his. So I pick up, and he asks if Ryan is there and I'm like uh, no, he is is still working. Being an annoying male, he then says, "oh well, he wasn't answering his phone so I thought you might be having the baby." So you thought I was in labor, and decided to call my phone anyway? :
