Cool wedding dancing music help please!

Dp and I are finally getting married after being together for 12 years with three kids together! yay for love!

I need help with the music for our wedding. We are doing it ourselves as the place we are renting has a great sound system. We'll make mixed cds that just need someone to press 'play'.

About 1/4 of our guests will be kids. Our background music likes are folk, alternative, 40s, 70s, 80s, the Beatles, Sarah Harmer, accoustic guitar contemporary folky stuff, singable, Rebirth of Cool, etc. We don't really listen to R and B, pop, heavy metal, or contemp rock.

We need suggestions for good dance music past or present that would be suitable for all ages, fairly PG, and good to listen and dance to.

help please! Give us some ideas beyond what is on our iPods!

Thanks in advance,

carolynn

This isn't what you asked for, but.....my brother had music at his wedding that was so fun. Check out the soundtrack from Sleepless in Seattle. He used a lot of those songs. hth

I must admit I love Neil Diamond. I think a lot of his hits make good dance music for all ages.

Thanks for the suggestions. What about more current artists?
