I switched over about 14 months ago with my youngest two. I'd never really heard much about modern CD'ing before then. I don't regret switching for a minute, even though my son only wore the cloth diapers for a few months before potty training (he was 2 when we switched). I bought medium (for my son) and small (for my daughter) fuzzi bunz, knowing they have good resale value. As it turns out, we've got another babe on the way so the diapers will be put to use quite a bit, but if not I would just sell them used and be pleased with even 40% of what I paid because we've certainly gotten our money's worth-- not just in what we've saved not using disposables, but also in time (no more last-minute stops at the store for diapers!!!) and health. You could easily get a very inexpensive cloth setup for around $100-$150 by purchasing prefolds and PUL covers. Pockets like fuzzi bunz will cost more initially, but they also have great resale value so you can often recoup some of your costs. It really is up to you-- what's most important (ease, cost, etc.)-- but I definitely would encourage you to give it a go. I never would have thought I'd love CD'ing as much as I do! It's addicting once you start.
