geez... i think i was not meant to have a natural birth... ever!
dd1 was footling breech from 20 weeks on and never moved regardless of doing everything in our power to convince her.
this baby is in a great position to birth naturally... this time it's my body that won't cooperate.
for the past month i've been dealing with a pregnancy-reactivated asthma. i'm on my third round of oral steroids, and this time the pulmonologist decided i just need to stay on them at a medium dose until i give birth. even the medium dose isn't taking care of things completely, though. it's just keeping it controlled to the point where my O2 sats stay high enough to keep baby happy
today i had a midwife appointment, and it turns out that i'm developing pre-e. my blood pressure is up to 140/86 and i'm spilling protein, which i was last week too.
anyway, my midwife and i talked about it for quite a while, and basically decided that a repeat c-section is the safest way to go. even if the pre-e were to magically disappear (not likely since the steroids are helping it along) my lungs aren't in any shape to deal with labor and birth.
we're hoping i'll make it to 37 weeks which will be two weeks from tomorrow.
i'm a little bummed, because this is my last bio baby, and i'll never experience labor. but honestly, i'm just glad to have the option to deliver safely. i plan on having another beautiful belly birth, and a healthy baby.
i have to admit... after struggling to breathe for a month, i'm a little relieved that it will be over soon. i'm just hoping against hope that the pulmonologist is right when he says the asthma will go away as soon as i have the baby!
