True confessions of a sleep-deprived new mom

The other day I realized that in one of the photos I'd posted on Facebook of me and the baby, my shirt was partially up and my boob was showing. No one said anything, and it was way at the bottom of the picture, so I'm trying to convince myself no one noticed. I think everyone's eyes were drawn up toward my face and the baby. Or at least that's what I'm hoping.

Any of you other tired PP mamas find yourselves doing anything silly and/or embarrassing? Make me feel better by posting your own true confessions below. The more embarrassing the better.

left a used cotton pad on the bathroom counter. luckily the one to find it was dh ("uh...is that your bloody rag in the bathroom?") and not our roommate or one of our numerous visitors.

We went to a playdate at the park yesterday and as I was busy nursing DD and talking to the other moms I *forgot* I had to look after my 2 year old! also! He was halfway across the playground when I finally remembered him and I took off running after him with DD still nursing away! LOL

This one is bad !!!! My poor DH - he is so good to me he was helping me change my pads while we were in the hospital (the joys of recovering from a c section).

I definitely took some photos that had part of my boob showing but made sure to NOT put them on facebook. I just hope DH doesn't!

I thought that I could slide the bottle of olive oil away from the one year old with my foot. I managed to knock it over instead, and it popped open and spilled out onto the rug. Nice.

We were coming home from a grocery trip and I went ahead with DS to open the door and corral the cats out of the kitchen. I had forgotten that DH had fixed the broken spring mechanism on the door! I pulled it open expecting it to just stay open and instead it came slamming back...right into DS's head : I NEVER want to hear a baby cry like that again.

He checked out fine thankfully, his head was just tender from the bump for the next day so he screamed every time I had to touch it to get him latched. DH just about had me on suicide watch that night and I still feel like the worst mother on the planet

Uhm, I can't be bothered to shower more than once every couple of days... I'm staying with my parents so when they offer to take the baby for a min my first thought is "NAP TIME!!!" I really don't shower until I notice that I smell (like today)

Thanks, ladies. That did make me feel better. Over the last couple of weeks I feel like I've had so many people involved in really private aspects of my body that I think I'm losing my sense of what is socially appropriate. I commented to one of the nurses in the hospital (as she was holding my catheter bag and wiping up the blood that gushed from my lady parts onto the floor) that I hadn't had other people be so involved in my bodily fluids since I was potty trained. And I'm getting totally used to just whipping out my boobs all the time, which is a new thing for me. So yeah, I'm going to have to pay attention, because the potential for further self-humiliation is huge.

hmmm I asked ds to bring me the lawn mower so I could vacuum the floor the other day, he looked at me like I was crazy...

I find myself boob out nursing baby with no recollection of when I did it!!! LOL And while I can NIP just fine, I hope I remember the difference between public and home!

I have to remind myself frequently to pull the top of my shirt and/or nursing bra back up...not in public, but when roaming the halls at home the first week or so as we had tons of male company and while I didn't mind nursing in front of them, I didn't necessarily want them to witness me flapping all over the place

LOL I tend to burp with everything flapping in the breeze, then forget I haven't fixed myself...I'm sure some of my dh's employees have seen more than appropriate!!! They meet here before work, sometimes at 6:30 am, and I am not at my best or really awake then!!!

Can I DDC crash to tell mine? When DS (now almost 3 1/2) was a newborn, I hung out with my father in law for a good 45 minutes before realizing that my brilliantly red, hugely elongated nipple was sticking out through the nursing slit of my !&&!*&@ nursing shirt (had not pulled the overhang flap down, OR put myself back in my shirt OR back in my bra). By the way ladies, if you don't have nursing shirts yet, just don't. They are not useful!

I went out to Target today with Parker around his "witching" hour (6pm) - thinking that getting him out in the car will help settle him... which it did at first.

As I was leaving the store (or trying to) he started screaming and fussing... as I realized I lost my car keys.

I went back into the store with my screaming flailing infant....and retraced my steps looking for my keys until I finally called DH to bring me the spare set.

It was NOT a fun night....
