I was just coming on here to see what was going on w/ her and the pertussis vaccine. My family registered for the March for Babies to celebrate DS's birthday this year (again, because he was a preemie) and I just got a "call" from her thanking me for walking and urging me to get the pertussis vaccine. wth? it kind of makes me upset that we're supporting mod if this is what they're doing w/ the money we raise, and i'm definitely re-thinking doing it again next year..

I do think she said something about the MOD in miami.......I though keri russell was the spokes person for the dtap and Cheryl Hines...They sure do have alot of celebs going along with this.........I will say I like keri russell and I was very suprised to see she vaxed as she seemed so crunchy......

So despite the fact that at least since 1980, 90 something % of US kids have been FULLY vaccinated for pertussis, cases keep on rising?? Doesn't this tell us something?

in 2004 96% of US children had received 3 doses in DTaP yet there were 25,827 reporeted cases of pertussis. In 1992 only 83% of US kids were fully vaccinated for pertussis, yet there were only 4,083 reported cases.

Seems to me the vaccine doesn't work real well...oh yeah I knew that already!

No, the rise in wc cases is because adults are not getting vaccinated to prevent transmission .

I saw this show. The commercial definitely had scare tactics in it that could easily frighten and guilt-trip most mainstream parents. It is a shame that most people aren't more proactive about being informed and making decisions when it comes to the health of their child(ren). Not that I had much respect for her to start with, but I definitely don't respect her now, especially if she took compensation (like she needs it).
