If it's caused by a uterine contraction then yes it counts as braxton hicks. How you feel it depends a lot on baby's position, your position, maybe on other stuff too. Stay hydrated and practice for labor relaxation with them.

I read this morning that this can be caused from baby pushing on a nerve or something like that. It can also feel sort of tingly, but shouldn't be really painful. It could be that? Perhaps pressure from the BH ctx?

ok thats what i was wondering....so there are no "real" contractions until labor starts? everything is just practice, leading up to that point?

I never felt a "real" contraction with my son...we were scheduled induction so pit, straight from the get go

I say the opposite, that there are no false contractions. Before the labor actually working to dilate you actively your contractions still strengthen your uterus and may get your cervix softened/thinned/slightly dilated, may help baby into position too. Some of my contractions in pregnancy have been pretty darn strong and persistent, almost as much as early labor.
