My Water broke and I have been having contractions for about 5 hours so bring on my little darling!
: I am ready to go, last time it was only 5 hours after my water broke, I seriously am in an excited place!!
So just to let you all know that Millee Appleblossom was born via successful homebirth VBAC this morning at 2:21am she is doing fantastic! She was 8 lbs exactly and 20.5 inches long, I will update with the birth story a little while after I get some rest! But I feel soooooooooooo great!
So this is the long and short of my successful HBAC! I had had contractions for days if not weeks, which is really typical of me. And of course it was driving me batty. So on Wednesday (Earth Day) I decided I was going to take my two dd's with me and go for an incredibly long and intense uphill walk to try and get things going. It took us most of the day and sure enough I had some regular contractions going. Nothing that hurt but fairly regular. By 9:30 ish my water broke, although I was still having contractions it was nothing that intense so by midnight my really great friend who was also my doula was over and we decided that it would be a good idea for us to get some rest! She fell asleep on the couch with her 5 month old and I went upstairs to sleep. My two dd's and my dh were about 1 block away at my Mother in Laws house. At about 1 am I came downstairs and said that they were really hurting. I had about 2 contractions while we were trying to warm up the water in my birth pool and then I said I have to get in. I got in and had maybe two or three more and suddenly I was pushing. At the point I started having the intense contractions we called my midwife. She left right away. I was screaming quite loudly, but I knew that the baby was coming out. Well I pushed with the next two contractions and out popped her little peanut sized head and then I had to push with two more contractions and out came her body. I was so relieved and felt amazing the minute she popped out. No more pain or anything just my darling baby girl. We called my husband and girls to come as soon as I started pushing, and they missed it. They heard me scream outside as they were getting out of the car and when they walked in they heard their sister crying. It was about an hour and 15minutes of hard labor that's it! I couldn't believe it! Although she looks like such a peanut to me she was 8 lbs even and 20.5 inches long! I will post pics as soon as possible. But I will say it was the best experience of my life and it couldn't have gone better. My doula was amazing she was so calm and collected. Her 5 month old and I had a wee bit of a screaming match at the very end, but she helped catch my little sweetie and was so encouraging the whole time. My midwife arrived about 45 minutes later, just in time to deliver the placenta! Although it wasn't exactly like I had planned, it was exactly the way it was supposed to be. Everyone had a wonderful experience and my husband couldn't have been more thrilled. Millee is a very mellow baby and everything is great, but i could use more sleep!!! But then again couldn't every new mom!! Hopefully I didn't leave anything out, but if you have any questions feel free to ask.
I had a VBAC with my 2nd daughter, but it was in the hospital and this was by far the best way to do it! If I had known I wouldn't have had her at home too! As a matter of fact I would have had all my girls at home. Birth is such a journey! I wasn't worried for a second!!
