I love my baby and she is driving me crazy....

my 10 month old dd has just started this wining thing. She wines all morning, regardless of what I do. Pick her up, put her down, play with her, read to her, nurse her (well, she stops while she is eating, then begins wining again). I am seriously losing my mind. I feel SO SO SO lucky to get to stay at home with her, and do not want to have someone else watch her, but I am going crazy.

I feel like I want to put her in her crib several times a day (when she is crying and wont stop) just to get away from her, and I feel bad about it. What is going on with her (or me) and what can I do? Please tell me it is just a stage.

Is she about to hit some milestones?

Is she crawling/walking?

Rowan got very whiney before he really got the hang of crawling, I think he was frustrated that his body couldn't move fast enough to get the things that he wanted to explore. I have no idea if this is what you've got going on though.

its just a stage. She will stop sometime in her 20s. . Sorry, just kidding.

Always remember that she will pick up on your mood, and its just a perpetual cycle from there. Also, she may just be going through a developmental stage. Maybe she is just overwhelmed by curiousity? It seriuously could be any number of things, but yes, chances are, she will outgrow it, and prolly very soon.

When my DS1 was going through this (from about month 11-13), I was 7/8months pregnant. I was so overwhelmed thinking he was going to be like this FOREVER! I tried so hard not to get frustrated, but it really is tough. he was also figureing out temper tantrums at this stage.

That being said, I WISH I could stay home with my kids. I miss them so much while Im at work, sometimes I have to fight back the tears.

She could be teething, but I don't think so....

She has been crawling for months and is pretty far from standing or walking on her own. She is becoming more vocal and practicing talking.

I want to be a good mom and I have a hard time getting anything done with her being so needy right now.

I was just going to post about this! ARG, the whining!!! It's like he's doing this to my head! Combined with the fact that he's crawling and in to EVERYTHING, as well as deciding not to sleep anymore at night, I feel like I'm losing my mind. One thing I have found that helps is taking him outside. When he just won't be satisfied by anything, I take him outside and push him in his swing for a while.

DS whines/fusses a lot too. Kind of always has.. but it gets worse around teething, or when he needs to poop..

Im going through this too and ds just turned 10 months. Seems this is the age and it lasts about three weeks. Not sure if I can last another week though.

My daughter is eleven months old and she's doing the same thing. Once or twice I have brought her into the bedroom and left her on the floor with a few toys and I climbed up on the bed and put my head under the pillow. I just couldn't freakin take it. She whined/fussed for like 20 minutes. After hiding under the pillow for a while I was able to be more patient.

This is really hard sometimes.

my 8 month old is doing the same thing and it is REALLY annoying....change of scenery def. helps...going for a walk, etc. or I could just hold her up while she practices walking ALL day..lol....it seems to be the only time she doesn't whine and moan.

dd does the same thing. the worst is the whining coupled with the pulling at my knees to be picked up every single second. then i put her in the sling & she arches her back & wants to be down again. i'm hoping when she cracks walking she will calm down again.

When my 10 month old starts whining, going outside works every time. Even just standing on the porch for a few minutes helps. She loves it! Now that it's nice out, trips to the park have become part of our daily routine.

My baby is also 10 months old and she is driving me crazy too! I'm also at home taking care of her, but it is kind of exclusively since I can't do anything else. I get so frustrated; can't finish anything I start... she has been following me wherever I go and  whining all the time. Toys no longer amuse her; I have to give her other things, such as magazines, phone, cables, chains...(of course I always make sure that it's not going to hurt her) then she gets calmer and plays longer.

And yes, when I go out with her and go around the swimming pool area she feels great, crawling around and touching the water or even playing swimming, she loves it... a good shower also helps...

Us too! Fin is soooo needy right now! She just has a lot going on I think between teething and developmental things. It's nice to see lots of other people going through what we are - makes me feel a little more connected.

BTDT! Have you ever heard of the wonder weeks? It's a great book that explains all the cognitive leaps that happen at certain ages that make them so clingy and cranky. There's an iPhone app or an email newsletter you can sign up for if you cant read the book. They give signs and symptoms that I found to be very validating and normalizing.

For our DD, she whined a lot around 10 months and then suddenly became able to sign for what she wanted and the whining dramatically decreased. When we still have our tough days, a bath or a walk outside almost always do the trick.
