My dad grew up in Bootjack, but we live up here in Smartsville, Ca now. 1 hour NE of Sacramento. We are zone 9 though.

I know this is an old message, but just moving to Mariposa and would love some gardening tips too! We are a above town on a ridge facing east, lots of hot sunshine! Want to plant shade trees. We got pretty burned over in the fire a few years ago.
