Can I use sateen fabric for a sling? It's McCalls pattern M5678, sorry I don't have a link.

I use sateen for a pouch - it's my favorite kind of fabric to use for that

I'm not sure what kind of sling you're making, but it would work fine for either a pouch of a ring sling

I would just ba careful with the tail to make sure it's not too slippery to stay in the rings tightly. Some sateens are smoother/slipperier than others. smaller rings will help if it slides too easily.

Sateen can make a very nice sling. Really what to look for in fabric for a sling is the fabric weight. Should be around 7oz weight. I am not sure if that is the pattern for the sling and Mei Tai. There is a commercially available mei tai pattern that really has many weakness. Not the right fabric recommendations, also reinforcments are virtually absent. So many other MT patterns are available should you choose to make one.
