I'd never trust the pull-out. I know my DH could never do it--he's said so himself. So I chart = no DTD w/ fertile CM and 3 full days afterward. About the tear, I wouldn't DTD until it's fully healed. If your DH doesn't like that, remind him it could get infected. Believe me, you don't want an infection there! Charting is easy before first PP AF, b/c esp. if you BF you're infertile for a while anyway. How long depends on whether you nurse on demand and you individually, but still, you have time.

Try female condoms. You can get them online for way less than in stores. They will likely cover the area where you tore, so there won't be as much friction there. Also, your husband will probably like them better than the male version.

It took over a year before I was healed up. (I also had a small tear)
