I think, though, that capitalism, taken as a "way of life" thinks all of those points are negative, crazy as that sounds. You don't have to pay anyone for those things, or produce a product that contributes to our GNP. From that economic paradigm, those effects don't exist at all, just like a stay-at-home parent who volunteers and watches neighborhood kids and helps the spouse and kids have a better quality of life doesn't exist.
