Will infant-sized indian cotton pf's fit in a Thirsties XS cover?

I'm planning to use a combo of pocket dipes and Indian cotton pf's with covers for my new LO.

I'm thinking of skipping the preemie size pf's and going right to the infant sized prefolds to save money, but I still want a good fit for a newborn. (My first was 8 lbs. at birth, but we used sposies then.)

Would infant-sized pf's fit well into a Thrirsties XS cover, or will I have to buy the preemie size, as well?

The thirsties X-small worked good for us right away (8lb 5oz baby) and we used some newborn prefolds but he was quickly out of them. The infant prefolds (chinese ones) fit fine in the covers and it was just super bulky at first on him, but now we're moving into the small!

The infant pf's might be a little big at first, as in, you may have to fold them down in front or back, but they should fit fine in the cover.

For a smaller baby, I usually recommend the nb pf's, but it sounds like your baby will probably be big enough to skip them!

nak... that's what I'm using now for my 4 week old ds..... he's 22" and probably close to 11lbs. i just do the jelly roll fold and fold about 1" down in the front and snappi... i don't find it bulky at all.

We use infant size prefolds and XS Thirsties right now and they fit great! We do the 'twist' fold which makes them a little more snug, I think.

This is helpful because I have Thirsties xs covers, and the diaper service we're using the first 2 months gave me newborn pfs last week, but they are actually higher in the rise than the GMD orange edge pfs, but not as high or wide as the yellow edge GMD. Sounds like it might be a little bulky, but not as bulky as using the infant pfs and not as trim as the orange edge.
