Does baby look safe/secure?

So I have a Kozy, and my 3 month old can't quite straddle me, but hates being in the froggy position, so I tied a string around the bottom to kind of sinch it up so that his legs could stick out.

Does this look OK or should the ties still be around his back?

TIA!!

ETA - I know that the Kozy is looser on one side than the other, is there a way to fix this while keeping the bottom sinched up so that he can stick his legs out? Or is it even a problem?

It's definitely fine to cinch the bottom so he can have his legs out, and it's also fine to tie under his bottom.

My suggestion would be to get him higher. His bottom should be at or slightly above your waistline, so that he's basically in the same position he'd be in in your arms, if you're holding him with your forearm at a 90 degree angle to your upper arm.

When you've got him in the carrier but before you tie the top straps, cinch up on those straps and really give them a good bounce/tug to get the slack out and get him nice and high and snug against you.
