pertussis cycle - when is next one?

I read once that pertussis runs in cycles, and peaks every 3 years. Is that right? (can anyone point me to a good url that describes this)
I also remember reading it peaks in the summertime

When you hear a lot of propaganda for the whooping cough vaccine, you can be sure that's the year. Then everyone runs to get it and the next year the infection is decreased. Works every time.
