What do you eat all day???

I find myself feeling hungry all through the day, but I don't know what to eat! I used to eat quite a bit of bread, but now I realized that's not good. What do you eat during the afternoon if you are feeling hungry? Veggies or a slice of cheese don't really do it for me.

I love cooking, so I'll whip something up. very often right now, cheese sandwichs: sourdough bread, butter, mustard, chedder, and dressed greens (whatever is in the house).

If I were trying to consume less bread, I would have a few things on hand. Leftover meat which can be sliced and nibbled or made into a sandwhich (triptip, though expensive, works great. chicken is good. fatty things, they are more filling.). yogurt. bread. leftovers (of any sort. I love to reheat those for a snack). I'd do nibbly bits of meat or cheese, pickles, kraut, leftovers, sandwhichs, yogurt, more sandwichs, and nuts (almost would be my choice). Maybe some salads. A single slice of cheese isn't very filling for an adult, but maybe a good hunk of cheese, or quite a few slices might work. Honestly, I also will nibble carrots or peas (if they are fresh and sweet still), or other veggies. Fruit for sure, if its fruit you will eat.

what do you like to eat for meals? make that and freeze in tiny portions, and reheat for snacks. Or make and eat the leftovers. No reason you can't have a scrambled egg for a snack, I do all the time.

Well, it changes week to week. This week has been yogurt w/ blueberries, dates stuffed with raw cashew butter or blue cheese and deviled eggs. Hummus and veggies are another of my favorites. I also made a batch of pate that I've been eating with red pepper sticks. Sometimes I'll have a sprouted corn tortilla quesadilla or roll up thing. Popcorn from time to time. Avocado slices with soy sauce.

It's the worst when you need a snack and can't find anything that sounds good! I'm excited to see some other ideas!

Nothing is "bad." Honestly, listen to your body... It's telling you what you need. If you're craving bread, eat it. I went grain-free for months, and wasn't craving anything but proteins, veggies and fats. Lately, however, I've been craving bean and cheese burritos, toast w/ butter and jam, toast w/ almond butter and raw honey, peanut butter cookies, chocolate cake, and pizza.... So, I've been enjoying those foods! And it's okay! My body has been feeling great! Point being, if you're hungry, what are you hungry for?.... Then eat it! LOL! And, Bon Appetite!

eggs any way!
spinach, cheese omelets
hummus
lentils with chicken or sausage
black bean stew with chicken or sausage
actually any bean with chicken or sausage
chili
steamed broccoli
steamed yellow squash
I put butter and lemon all over my veggies
sauteed veggies in garlic, onion, olive oil
soups of all kinds (made with my homeade bone broth)
spoon of peanut butter with raw milk
apples and peanut butter
ezekiel toast (the raisin cinnamon kind slathered with butter or coconut oil)
canned wild salmon (mix with egg, onion, garlic, finely chopped mushrooms and make your own fish sticks--sauteed in butter of course or olive oil)mmmm
canned wild salmon made into a tuna-type salad
roasted chicken on top of greens
raw milk in blender with a frozen banana and some stevia to sweeten
fruits

In general I cook up BIG pots of stews with beans or lentils and eat it for a couple of days with other things in to mix it up. I may have the stew two nights in a row and then cook different veggies or salads with it.

One thing I've been amazed about since slowly transitioning to a more TF diet is that I am slowly transitioning OUT of the need to snack. I find if I have full, hearty meals I am generally quite full until the next meal comes around. This is a big change for me, since I used to snack all the time. That said, if I do have a snack it's usually along the lines of yogurt, nuts or fruit. I don't even keep snacky kinds of food around anymore, now that I think about it...

I personally don't think bread is all that bad. We eat loads of homemade sourdough bread. We grind the organic wheat and only use whole grain, and add nothing else but sea salt and water. I love bread with a big glass of raw milk, or a chunk of cheese, or raw yogurt.

I'll hard boil a bunch of eggs, and have them in a bowl in the fridge for snacking.
Cut up a bunch of veggies and leave them in the veggie drawer. Pull out a bag when you're hungry.
I just made some (gluten-free) granola and it came out sort of like Grape Nuts. Put some in with my coconut milk yogurt and it was a great snack.
Handful of almonds or walnuts.
I also keep chicken (bone) broth in the fridge, and we usually have leftover rice in there. And I'll heat up some rice and broth and have a bowl (did that before bed last night since I was still hungry).
We have a fruit bowl on the counter that always has something in it.

Yeah, I always seem to have broth and rice floating around in the fridge.
Add some miso and dulse, and you have a perfect meal!

this is sooo true!!! unfortunately I started TF/NT recently and I am pregnant. So no weight loss on my part. But the craving for "bad" sugary food is gone. The better meal I prepare with the right fats etc the less snacking we do.
Now its the occasional want for popcorn.
Honestly I cant wait not to be pregnant and see how the weight falls off and not be miserable while doing it.

i eat/drink lots ofdairy since it doesnt take as much prep as a meat dish. ie. fruit and whole milk yogurt, butter on everything, sprouted grain waffles with yogurt and maple syrup. also the hard boiled egg idea is great. for a quick snack i like grilled cheese sandwhiches or no-nitrate brats. healthier baked goods made with nut flours or sprouted/soaked flours are great too. also almonds in various forms, coconut-sugar covered, chocolate covered, just salted with raisins.

Since I started eating high-fat meals (60-80% of calories from fat), I've lost the desire to snack in between, other than the occasional brine pickle or small dish of sauerkraut. When I do absentmindedly nibble on something else, such as a bite of leftovers when I'm tidying the kitchen, I feel uncomfortably full right away.

Since I'm 7 months pregnant, I've added a fourth meal in the late evening. It's typically some fresh or frozen fruit, and yogurt made with added cream. That keeps me going fine until the morning.

By contrast, at this stage of my previous pregnancies, I was snacking all day, and waking up to eat in the middle of the night. I was pretty much always hungry.

I am almost 7 months pregnant, and I don't have to get up to snack in the night either. I am eating full fat (loads of it too) and in contrast, I had to get up twice in the night to eat with my previous non TF pregnancy.

That is kind of where i am at but just getting ready to move into the 2nd tri. I am craving fat like crazy. Usually I only fry things once in a blue moon- well I have been frying various things at least once a week and just using lots of other highfat items. With my first pregnancy I ate constantly as I had blood sugar issues- no wnder though I ate lots of carbs and grains. Last time I reduced grain consumption and kept dairy to fermented but this time I am gf/df and very, very low grain. I eat a 4th meal at night as well so I don't wake up hungry.

I have eating so many different things because of cravings changing so much. Breakfast has been - green smoothies and bacon or sausage. Lunch is often leftovers- or some kind of lettuce wrap w/ copious amts of full fat mayo. Super is generally whatever strikes me at the moment!
