I was SO excited!!!!!!!! How cool.

ETA: in their kids' safety section they had a sign about how babies should remain rear-facing until 1 year old. I politely informed them of the new AAP recommendations and they were very open to looking into changing their info. What a cool place!

What? They changed the car seat recommendations?

eta: I'm reading Diaper Free Before 3, which has a lot to say about the useless and unsubstantiated by scientific evidence AAP potty training guidelines, so I don't really take much stock in what the AAP says.

WOW. I can't believe the mentioned pumping too. I can't imagine someone wanting to PIP (haha that looks like PIMP, but I meant Pump In Public). That would be a little strange to see. Good for them, though!

Wonder if anyone will try out the pump anywhere bit?

But I think in the case of keeping car seats rear facing longer (as well as no screen time before three), this is a case of something being SO important (so SO bad) that even the AAP can't screw it up and mangle it all in their recs I think she just wanted the museum to know about extended rear facing being a good thing, and maybe getting that out there to other parents. It IS all about science and physics, right?

I LOVE the sign

That is so cool!!! The fact that they ADVERTISING their acceptance of mums bfing anywhere they need to is awesome enough, but pumping too?! WOW.

That said, can you imagine walking around just totally nonchallant with a noisy pump at your boobs?

So awesome!

I also love the fact that they use the wording "caregiver center" instead of "mother's room" or something similar -- how inclusive!
