Maude has a vaccine reaction

I was looking through episodes of "Maude" since I heard of Bea Arthur's death today. I thought this episode was interesting:

I don't know how much into the episode you watched, but she got a tetenus shot because she was going on a trip to Italy (I guess Italy was swarming with cases of tetenus back then ) and she developed a terrible rash on her rear end (heehee.) The rash then started spreading to the rest of her body.

She went to the doctor and he gave her some pills to take for the rash, and he didn't explain to her the risks or how to take the pills, so she took all of them and had a terrible reaction to the pills and had to cancel her trip to Italy.

Yep, it was a good eppy. I loved Bea Arthur in Maude and GG.

I feel like her experience at the doctors office reflects what I have gone through on a couple of occasions, I just feel it has always sucked and will never get better.

Waiting around forever .....
Not being listened to .... a hundred different ways
Given something without explanation .... both the vax and the meds

Sigh.

At least they admitted you can have a reaction to a vax back then!!
