Maya Wrap- HELP

Thread Starter
So, I am a new Mama and have tried numerous times to use my Maya wrap with my newborn (2 weeks old). I watched the video on their website and have read threads about it but must be doing something wrong. I put her in the thing and she screams. Can someone give me some insight? I put her feet in first? I feel more comfortable with her head up hear the rings. Is this wrong? I will keep trying..... I feel like she is all smashed up in there and my boobs get in the way....
Help, por favor?

I always wore my newborns upright on my chest (between my boobs; but a little higher), with the sling tucked underneath their butt. Their head was tucked almost under my chin - I found that the be the most comfortable and most secure for me.

If your babe will curl up on your chest and be content, you can try getting her settled first and then putting the sling on over you and her (if that makes sense). It's easier if someone is there to help you make sure eveything is straight.

I'm so sorry you're having trouble! Is there a LLL group meeting near you? That, or an API group would be a great place to find help getting it situated.

Yep - skip the cradle carry except for nursing. Most babes prefer to be vertical - so try that out. Are therer any local bwing groups near you?? Don't worry - you'll get it sorted out and you'll both love it!!

Do you have a picture you can post? That will help in trouble shooting and giving tips that may work to get a more comfortable carry.
