What is going on with me? (TMI)

Since Friday I've been having nothing but loose bowel movements. I don't feel sick at all, haven't eaten anything out of the ordinary, and nobody else in the house is sick. I never had anything like this with DS. To me it seems like my body is cleaning house before labor starts, but how much longer is this going to keep up? I'm staying well hydrated and eating things that are supposed to counteract this but its not helping. This really isn't the way I envisioned starting labor

Well I've got no real advice or experience, but this has been happening to me too! Not loose as in sick, but definitely a change. I have felt as my body is cleansing itself too - (TMI warning) I went 4 times yesterday! Which is totally unheard of. I've been taking probiotics and that's regulated me to daily or every other day. Before pg I was a every other to every 2 day kind of gal.

It is totally out of character for me as well. I'm not taking probiotics and nothing else I take could be contributing as far as I know. I'm kind of just like well if this is preparation for labor lets get the show on the road already because I can't take much more of this

I'm kinda in your boat. I've been looser but not like diarrhea, but looser (and I've never been constipated this pg anyway). The color has lightened too I've thought of it as cleaning out too though it's been about a week.

ETA: a little more frequent for me as well

Also loser and more often. I feel like I need to go everytime I sit on the toilet. I have been like this for over a week too. And first thing in the morning, if I don't go immediately after I wake up I feel nauseous. Its so weird.

Its definitely diarrhea. I have never been through this before so I don't know what's normal and what isn't and if its something I need to be concerned about. I've been hanging out around 3cm and 75% effaced for the last month so I wouldn't be surprised if this is just pre-labor stuff, it just isn't much fun.

It is completely normal to have loose stools or even diarrhea as you get closer to birth. I've heard it called "nature's enema."

But for 3+ days?
Mine were loose and frequent for a day before and during the first half day of labor with my first. In pregnancy things just weirdly go from one end of the spectrum to the other, though, so it might not be impending labor at all just hormones.

Just an FYI, my loose stools moved into full blown diarrhea in the last 2 hours. I keep thinking theres nothing left in there but everytime I get up I have to go. I called my midwife she said to drink some rrl tea to see if it settles and try to rest just in case.

Mine have changed too. Much more frequently (3+ times a day, for the last 4 days or so), and in the middle of the night Seriously - who poos at 3am in the morning
I wondered initially if it was pre-labour stuff, but since it's been 4 days, I wasn't sure what to think.

I'm a pretty regular girl anyway (members of our household are aware of my 10.30am poos ). I normally go once or twice a day, but that's now increased to 3 or 4 a day for the past couple of weeks.

My problem is the need to release the gas equivalent after each evening meal! Trying to do that quietly is just not fun!

I lost a bunch of mucus plug last night and again this morning when I went pee. I had some contractions afterwards in bed, definitely different from what I've been having. I guess this is just early, early labor stuff. I'm totally skeptical until I have to actually do something to work through them so I will say I still have a few days.

:

I have the loose bowels, too. FUN stuff! I could do w/out the vomiting, though.

I had that about 2 days before my last birth. I had one night of sudden, wretched vomiting and then felt better and went to bed. This time I just feel like its stretching on foooooooorever.

My soft stools/diarrhea have been going on for about a week or so. On Saturday night I was losing plug and having some bloody show. All night Saturday I had harder contractions than I've had before. And yesterday everything (except the poo) seemed to back off. Sounds like pretty normal early labor stuff to me.

I just love hitting new milestones...even if they are a little TMI to share with the family sometimes. LOL

Looser and frequent here too. I'm hoping it's a good sign. With M, I didn't really hit diahrea stage until I was in labor. Lots of mucus here too, but no sign of a plug.

Julie, that cracks me up LOL Surely not going to call my mom and share my bowel and mucus status with her!

Sounds exactly like where I'm at, with the mucus and everything. I've had small bits of what I think is mucus plug, but I am really unsure.

And I probably would share those things with my Mom - she is beyond excited about everything with this baby, I think she'd probably appreciate it!

Loose stools here too. Found out this morning at my 37 w appt I had lost 4 lbs too?? The mw wasn't too concerned but that coupled with the loose stools she said it sounds like things are starting to move along.

hopefully things will kick in for you soon Katie and you won't be stuck in the bathroom too much longer.
