I treat my children the way I believe Jesus would treat them. When my baby cried, I comforted him. When my baby was hungry, I fed him. When my baby needed to know how much was loved, I picked him up and loved him. These are all very direct actions that were guided by my belief in Scripture and faith in God.

I love this...I feel this way, exactly. I think people who use scripture to back up CIO etc. are misinterpreting it, to put it mildly.

I've been very lucky to find some crunchy Christian moms IRL who are my good friends. I don't know what I'd do without them. We almost moved last year, and one of my biggest concerns about our new location was the lack of crunchy people there.

I will say, however, that most of my Christian friends are not crunchy, and most of my crunchy friends are not Christians.

I am Christian and cruncy. Fairly new to it all but, so far, I haven't found anything AP/crunchy which is non-biblical. I would be interested to hear from people who have though so I can find acceptable( to me) alternatives.

This is an interesting question. I've noticed that my Christian faith journey has led me to eat healthy food, take better care of myself, make conscious shopping decisions, recycle, and the like, and now has influenced how I care for my daughter. Even before she was born, I was feeling like I was headed in a different direction from the church where I attend, and after she was born, it was even more obvious. So this Sunday will be my last day there. I'll miss some of the folks, but I know it's not the right place for me anymore.

Thanks for those links!

I haven't read the whole thread here, but I just want to throw in a : to the notion that one of the big reasons that I practice attachment parenting and gentle discipline (or at least that I try to! ) is that i belive it is the way Christ would want me to do those things... I look to Him as an example of how to lead and teach, and try to follow His ways of doing things...
I believe, per scripture, that my body is a temple, so I seek whole foods and non-invasive ways to be healthy. I think that in Genesis when God gave Adam dominion over the Earth that included a responsibility to care for the Earth and the things in it, so I try to live a green/sustainable lifestyle, and yes, I think it all is very much intermingled with my faith.

I know that one religion-specific group from here was frustrated and feeling bashed when faith-related topics came up, so they (we) started their own board. I am still active here, because it is a much larger community (so I can get a wider range of knowledge and experiences to help me), but for the more personal things, or times when I just need to talk about something and need listening ears who really understand where I'm coming from, I do go to the private board because I feel safe there with people that I know share both my lifestyle AND my faith.
