I want to go into labor

I'm done! It's been hot here and I'm uncomfortable and so ready to be done. I was ready last week but now I'm really ready. Only 38 weeks though. How long do I have to be desperate before the baby will come huh? lol.

Anyone have luck with a breast pump after having ctx from an orgasm? Sigh.

I know the baby will come when ready. I'm mentally trying to prepare myself for 4 more weeks (up to 42).

I'm with you, Alicia.
Sorta.
Part of me is ready not to be pregnant [it was 91 here today!], but that means I'm going to have a newborn to take care of!
OTOH, I'm really nervous about my VBAC. And I'm afraid that being nervous is going to slow down the start of things...

I've been quietly saying this to myself since yesterday...I'm done. I want to go into labor.
But then that means labor. Which I don't want. ;-) And also...I need to mop the floors.
DH and I fooled around the other night (he wants me to go the full 40 weeks so I think he's a little scared to actually DTD ;-)) and I had contractions all day the following day, but I highly doubt they were productive.
The thing about all of those things - DTD, breastpumps, etc, is that they really only work if your body is already ready to be in labor. But you can try them...who knows? Have you had any bloody show or mucus plug or anything? I haven't, which is why I keep telling myself to settle in and get comfortable...it could be another two weeks or more (I'm 39 today).
Hope you can cool off and relax...

No mucous plug Lots of mucous though. I had three hours of ctx after DTD Thursday. I keep wanting to be an exception to the natural methods not working until body is ready...lol. I'm sure I'm not the only one!

Haha! I know! Everyone wants to be the exception.

DH just informed me that he'd like me to have the baby at least several days after my due date. Poor thing...he just started a new job and has deadlines...but...holy cow...two more weeks of this? I guess it's not really up to me anyway. But hey...it gives me an excuse to lounge around on my butt more ("I didn't mop the floors because I don't want to go into labor early!"). ;-)

No signs of impending labor here, other than a few days of loosER, but not truly loose, BMs. *shrug* I've said since the beginning that I'll deliver on my due date, which is the 11th. I've been seeing the #11 constantly for at least the last year, and my first would have come on his due date if he hadn't gotten stuck.
So that's 2 more weeks. *sigh*

That's my edd too . I told DH yesterday that I think we should count down from 4 weeks instead of 2 till my due date. I know the baby will be here in 4 weeks since I can't go pats 42. It helps me some.

Oh I hear ya. I am so so ready as well. I literally have no room left to hold this baby, I feel like a balloon getting ready to burst apart. Even my MW said I am looking like I will not make it much longer, like I can't go much longer.
I have a check up with her on Tuesday at which she has agreed to do a "rough" internal. Which I'm hoping will get things going. I'm 38 weeks, been measuring a week ahead the whole pregnancy so I tell myself I'm a week later than I am LOL. But seriously, I'm so ready to have this baby. My dh is taking almost a month off after the baby comes and he is so ready for that to start LOL. He asks me before he leaves for work "any chance hon?"
I caved and was induced with my last two dc, and since I'm doing this at home this time, that's not an option LOL so I have to be patient but it's so darn hard!

I'm with you! I desperately want to go into labour. I'm all ready, all my preparations are finished, I just feel like I'm wasting time, waiting around now lol.

But apart from near constant BH contractions since 31 wks, I've got nothing to indicate I'm anywhere near labour. I am 38w5d today.

I'm with all you ladies on this, I'm so fed up bieng uncomfortable & telling my poor DD 'sorry, can't play ball anymore, mummy's exhausted' etc.

Worst luck for me is I'm only 36 weeks! How will I stick 6 more weeks if need be? I don't want to be induced as I really want my VBAC and don't want to jeopardise it.

I actually had a minor car accident this morning - nothing serious, someone reversed into me at low speed out of a parking space - but it did start up some cramping. When I told DH, I actually said I wouldn't be devastated if it did start something! I feel really irresponsible even thinking that!

I am looking forward to proving to myself that I can accomplish a natural happy birth and am indeed looking forward to my labor! Its exciting not knowing when it will happen. I am slightly uncomfortable but really, its not so bad at all yet. I am 37weeks and had my dd when I was 38w4d. I know the full moon is coming soon, so we will have to see what happens.

I'm SO ready to have the baby as well! I'm done being pregnant, I'm done with the GD and this is an after miscarriage baby so I've waited a LONG time for him. I need him to just be here safely already. I just keep telling myself 3 weeks or less, 3 weeks or less (I'll be induced on my EDD due to the GD if I don't go on my own before then).

I absolutely am DONE!!! I hurt so bad i cant move anywhere without feeling like i'm being ripped apart. I've never felt anything like this before even gong 2 wks over with the last one AND i had the mid summer weather misery to add in with pregnancy discomfort. I have spot near my rib that feels like it tore last night when i was coughing(stupid tickle in my throat thing) anyway, now i have a small bulgy feeling there and its super tender. today i've been leaking but cant figure out if it is water leaking or pee leaking from baby pushing so much on my bladder....... I've had contractions today, mostly not super strong but in some positions i definetely feel them more, crampy near the bottom and squeezing all over.... not close enough to hope yet but if i'm not closer by morning i'm gonna call OB to see if they think i could have torn something and MAYBE see if i should see if i'm leaking fluid. The muscles from my spine feel like they are being torn off to rap around my belly....i'm so hurting! I'm not sleeping, but cant stay awake.. go figure.

Not getting my hopes up though... just MAJORLY wishing!
My mother forbids me to have the baby next week(when the OB is talking about inducing) because its a huge flower holiday and they run a wholesale flower biz(which DH works at too)

grumble grumble grumble... sorry to be a downer.... DH doesnt get it

I'm done being pregnant. I'm hot, I'm tired, my feet and legs look like freaking sausages, I hurt in places I shouldn't be hurting, I've got yellow mucus coming out every time I go to the bathroom, and I peed my pants today when I sneezed. I've also been contracting and cramping on and off for almost a week now. I had two serious ones last night that woke me up, I had to actually focus and deal with them, which shocked me, and I had over 4 hours today of constant cramping.

I hate to complain, I feel like I'm "ruining" the mood of doing what women are designed to do, blah blah blah. But I can't help it

You know what is kind of hard to think of? I'm going for a VBAC, so I have to wait until I just go into labor, but if I wanted a repeat c-section I could schedule it for this week. If I wasn't so dead set on getting my VBAC, I'd be in the OB's office yelling to get this kid out of me :

Anyone go into labor with their first without losing their mucous plug? I keep checking for it...no tinges of color whatsoever!

I'm in the same situation. Hoping for a VBAC. My OB won't induce under any circumstances, beyond a stretch and sweep, so if I don't go into labour on my own before 42 wks, I'll be having a repeat c-section anyway. I'll be really, really cranky if that happens.

I'm happy to read through this thread. i always thought all the Mothering folks were these Zen mamas peacefully waiting up to 42, 43 weeks, happy to let the baby grow and grow.

My first two were late, 42 and 41 weeks respectively, and I HATE WAITING. Right now, I'm 39.5 weeks, and I'm an emotional mess. I cry at the drop of a hat, so unlike me, and also unlike my other 2 pregnancies. This time, I also feel BH contractions all the time, which I didn't in the first 2 pregnancies, so every time I wonder whether it's just more BH or early labor... It's so frustrating. Plus, my other 2 kids are driving me crazy right now. I have so little patience for them. So I feel like a bad mama... What a mess I am!

I just hate not knowing whether it's going to be tonight or 2 more weeks from now...

Nope, never lost my plug with DD, even after a membrane sweep in early labor.

Same here. If this ends in a repeat c/s I'm gonna be real pissed, lol.

No zen anything here right now, lol. I'll wait, but I'm not gonna be zen about it!

Never lost my mucus plug with my first. I just woke up at 3am with contractions 4 minutes apart and it went from there.

Me: My blood sugar numbers are dropping, hoping this is a sign the baby is coming in the next week or two, yay!
