I am looking for the pattern for the hat on the beautiful blue-eyed little girl on the cover of Mothering. It's a fuschia hat that ties under the little girl's neck. It has a knitted flower attached.

Thanks for your help!!

It's LTK's pilot cap.

Here is the Rav link to that particular hat.

From the look of it it could just be the next size. I had a friend knit us one and before it felted it sat nicely towards the front.

I'm so happy to see the response to the hat being on the cover Just want to clarify that the pattern was not altered by the knitter at all, it's just pulled snug around the face. None of the pictures I have on my website show it that way, because all of my models are my sons, who absolutely refuse to have anything tight around their faces, LOL!

Knitting in the Shade, do you have any idea what yarn mistybliss used for this hat? I really like how it turned out. Hmmm.

nope, I don't know. I'd venture a guess though that it's a handdyed, from the variegation - and I think she's in Australia, so probably one you couldn't get in the US. Have you tried rav mailing her? Or maybe check her blog - I think it's http://www.twoandsix.com

: its funny, i have knit this hat probably 35 times and i didn't recognize it! i saw it and thought " look at that rad hat!" then read in the inside cover that it was the pilots cap i think it was the fact that its so far over the forehead, mine have never turned out that way..and the flower is lovely.
any ideas how to knit a flower like that teressa?
