we are leaving for Boston next week for our "Make way for ducklings " tour. Do you know any other story books that use Boston as a background?
I'd like to keep the Boston theme going this week up until we leave.

Good Night Boston

I'm not sure how old your kids are, but there's a series of board books called "Good Night Our World." Each book features a different geographic place, and saying Good Night to the high profile or noteworthy sites and landmarks in the area. We have Good Night Seattle and Good Night San Diego. There is one for Boston. They're board books, but our kids love seeing pictures in a story book of places they've been. Our oldest is nearly five and she likes the books way more than the baby.

There's also an alphabet book about Boston called Journey Around Boston from A to Z. This is also part of series based on cities, mostly touristy ones. I think they have one for DC, Cape Cod and Nantucket. They're more about showcasing the cities than the alphabet.

Most bookstores and libraries have a regional section of stuff that's published locally. If you called a bookstore or a library there they'd probably have some really good suggestions.

Johnny Tremain is full of Boston history. It is a novel for older readers, but very good.

There is a take on the "Goodnight Moon" books called "Goodnight Boston" and also a book entitled "Journey Around Boston from A to Z". If you need any help with good kid activities feel free to PM me. We get into the city about once every 1 or 2 months and I used to work right downtown.

Enjoy your trip - it is a beautiful city to walk around. Very accessible. Hopefully the weather is brilliant for you!
