Need alternative to BG

I have been using BGs since DS was born and love them. I love how they contain messes and how they look after so many washes. BUT I hate the velcro. The velcro has failed on almost all of my diapers (I did get some new ones covered under the Cottonbabies warranty) but this is nothing but a short term fix.

I think I need to try something with snaps. My DS (only 9 months) has already figured out how to pull the diapers off.

So what I'm looking for is a diaper that performs and holds up like the BG (except for the velcro issues of course). I think I want snaps. Sized or OS. I want something that is stay-dry. I ordered some medium FB true fit to try.

Anything else?

Oh yeah, my little guy is long and lean if that helps.

THANKS!

I like the OS Tiny Tush Pockets ( they come in snaps or velcro), also Baby Kangas are very trim and OS- snaps.

I think you'll probably find you like the fuzzi bunz a lot. Although I've only used the old style- the new ones might be different. But the old style have held up for four years of steady use for us. They look worn a little, but they still work great.

Would you consider a separate cover and diaper system? Mother-ease makes very durable diapers and we like them a lot.

The Happy Heinys one size pocket is a snap dipe. I find they're pretty comparable to the BG - with cuter prints!

Another vote for TinyTush! They've fit and held up well for us.

Snaps

We've used Fuzzi Bunz and Knickernappies. I have one BG that I bought in an emergency, but I also don't like velcro in the long run. It just don't last as long as snaps, and the BG are expensive for diapers that aren't likely to survive more than one baby.

You can get Fuzzi Bunz seconds for $10 each. The flaws are almost impossible to find, and are guaranteed to not impact the performance the diaper. I also got my knickernappies for $10 on clearance when the new design came out. There are still a few people around clearing out old stock if you can find them.

I like both Fuzzi Bunz and Knickernappies. Both hold up well. The knickernappies fit a little trimmer, but I find that I have to be careful to make sure that the fleece is all rolled to the inside. If an edge is twisted so the fleece is exposed the moisture will wick.

Does anyone know if BG is planning to do a snap version of these? It seems like that's a very common complaint about them "I like them except for the velcro".

They have snaps on the OS organic, but I don't know anything about them since I am just starting to research CD for my 4th baby due in August.

I love our Fuzzi Bunz seconds- they make up a majority of my stash and most of them I can't even tell what the defect was. They'll last until DS is potty trained and after fixing the elastic on some of them should be last through the new baby, too.

I vote for Fuzzi Bunz, too. Ours have held up through two toddlers and I intend to use them for our third as well. Plus all the solid colors make me really happy. I love how they look with a t-shirt (or under a dress on my daughter) on a hot summer day.

Yup, they do. Here they are: http://www.jilliansdrawers.com/produ...esizewithsnaps and reviews from diaperpin: http://www.diaperpin.com/diapers/ItemDetail.asp?ID=1913.

Thanks!

I found a set of FB new style seconds for $114 for 10 at http://www.fuzzibunzseconds.net/stor...Medium15-30lbs. Has anyone ever ordered from them before?

I am also going to have to try Tiny Tush.

Thanks again!

I have! My order arrived promptly and they've worked great for two years now.

I THINK that it has something to do with the Fuzzi Bunz patent. I wouldn't put money on that theory, but I think I remember reading somewhere that that was what is preventing them from going for snaps.

I love bumGeniuses, except for the velcro. I love the suedecloth, the envelope pocket, the extra stretchy elastic, and the stretch on the tabs. But I hate hate hate the velcro, and it is useless after awhile.

We've made the switch to the one size FBs (along with our sized snap diapers) and won't be looking back.

yep, I hate the velcro too and after only a month it's already wearing.

I love fuzzi bunz much better. They're trimmer and cutter to IMO. Husband likes velcro better though. They're faster for him.

That is pretty amazing!

I love FB! My whole stash is FB. I have traded a few diapers to see what I like and I always go back to the FB. I do find that the elastic wears out and I have to replace it. I do not like velcro on any diapers I have tried, it just looks bad very quickly and then stops working!
