PP Weight Loss Already? And tummy loss... - Page 2

Ok so I guess I may have cheated a bit and was at -3 lbs the week before giving birth (had GD so was on a very strict diet) so I had no weight gain during pg but since giving birth 2 wks ago I have lost 15 lbs so I am at -18 lbs pre-pg. And already am fitting into my pre-pg pants- actually they're a little loose on me. But I do have a tendency to GAIN weight while bfing after the first couple of months. May continue my GD diet for a while just to get down a few pants sizes and stay that while for a while. The belly diffenetly needs some work- tightening. So feel the blubbery thing going on here too!

I don't have a scale, so I don't know about weight loss - my guess is I still have about 10 extra pounds on?
I can now fit into most - not all - of my pre-preg pants, which is encouraging, and was similar to how I was after DD's birth.
But, honestly, I think SO much of this is just genetic. I'm lucky that the tummy and a lot of the weight goes away quickly, but there's nothing I'm *doing* (other than BFing) which helps that - if anything, I feel like my appetite has increased and I'm eating WAY too many brownies and cookies!
Most mamas I know take several months at least to lose all the preg weight, and for some, even once the weight is gone, their pp shape is markedly different.
I've heard some people say that it took you 9 months to put on the weight - you should give yourself at least 9 months to lose it...

I gained 50.
I lost 15, so far, 8 of which were baby.

I haven't been hungry and I am nursing / pumping.

Long way to go.

1 week pp... I've lost 20, doing nothing. I'm really really hungry and have been eating twice as much as usual. (Tandeming a 1year old and baby).

I think I gained about 35-40 lbs.

I'm fitting into my medium maternity pants again, haven't dared to try on any non maternity yet. I can wear most of my shirts again, though.

Last time I lost all but 10 lbs in the 3 months between pregnancy. This time my goal is to lose all of this pregnancy weight plus that 10 lbs, and get down to 130 (I'm 5'4") or even 125, but not below, since I had HG with my 1st pregnancy and lost 10 lbs, and I don't want to be too skinny if that happens with another pregnancy.

I hopped on the scale the other day and noticed I am down about 12-15 pounds of the almost 30 I put on (at 5 days PP). I am using a belly binder/PP support band, and while my abs are still extremely soft I can actually get a bunch of my pants on. They are still a little snug in the crotch, so I am sticking to skirts and yoga pants for the time being. My DS was 18 months before I was down to my pre-pregnancy clothes with him, so this is kind of exciting. Now watch, I have jinxed myself.

I am not concerned so much about losing weight as I am able to get some muscle tone back. I am missing opening day of softball season (in a few weeks!) but am planning to return to playing at the end of June. I can't wait to get in the cages and swing the bat a little.

I gained 35lbs and I've lost 40 in less than 3 weeks! A 9.75 lb baby and a LOT of water weight is included in that though, and I was overweight when I got pregnant. It feels SO good to not have gigantic hands and feet anymore... I had a lot of swelling in my face too, which has mostly gone away. Still can't get my wedding ring on though. Last time I tried it felt like it wouldn't fit over the bone... is it possible my bones got slightly bigger? My feet seem longer - even though my swelling is gone, my shoes still don't fit.

I have lost about 26 or so of the 35-40 that I gained without effort as well. I'm glad to hear that we are supposed to keep the last 10 on for our milk! I heard those were the hardest. My belly sure has a lot of extra skin though that I hope to firm up asap!

I gained 70 lbs and have lost it all and more. The body is nowhere close to what it was before though, alas.

But I'm also 9 weeks post partum and nursing twins. Truth be told, I'm having a hard time eating enough to maintain my weight because everytime I start to eat, someone starts crying. My husband and I play a game of "How many seconds from the time mommy sits down til babies start crying".

Luckily I have plenty of reserves from before I ever got pregnant.

Or, how long between you get the plate of food in your hands until baby fusses... Twins, you have such a special gift to take care of. From your signature, looks like they are miracle twins as well.

To the ladies w/stretch marks, I hear they get less noticeable as your belly goes down. If you have not seen theshapeofamother.com, please go... shows such BEAUTIFUL bodies that are not what we see on TV but that are beautiful nonetheless. Zebras are beautiful, right? THat's what I tell myself about my stretch marks on my thighs (none on the belly, but hey, at least you all can wear a one-piece, there is nothing I can wear to the pool that hides my stripey thighs)! :

I gained 10 lbs during my pregnancy and have lost 23 lbs since delivery 11 days ago. I am quite overweight to start with however and I think that has a lot to do with it .

I gained 29 pounds, I think, and lost 20 pounds by about 10-12 days post-partum. It has been almost 4 weeks now, and I still have 7 pounds to go. With my first son, I gained 45 pounds, lost 25 pounds immediately (first 10 days), lost another 10 pounds over the next few months and keept an extra 10 pounds on. I was underweight before my 1st pregnancy and nursed until I got pregnant again, so I guess my body needed that weight.

Last time I wore maternity clothes for 8 weeks until I got frustrateed and bought some size 4s (all I own are size 0s and 2s). I am fittting in the size 4 jeans I bought, but I only have 1 pair.....so I am mostly wearing yoga pants. I think a trip to Old Navy is in order for some capris and shorts that fit.

ON, good idea. I have one pair of size fours, which I wear daily, and my stretchy size twos which are, lets admit it, not totally flattering yet. I want to lose the weight so I can buy the nice wide stripey jeans at the Gap and since they change the sizes every year : I need to be in shape to try them on.

Maybe for Christmas!
