Uses for flat beer?

I have a growler (1/2 gallon) of pale ale that got left out of the fridge and is no longer good to drink. Anyone have ideas for ways to use it? Could I feed it to plants? Get the cats drunk? (kidding) I have heard it makes a good conditioner but I am not sure how to use it.

Is it still safe for consumption? I often use beer as a marinade for red meat.

I did think of using it for stew, but it is unpasteurized and was left out longer than I am comfortable with for consumption.

too bad you don't want to use it for foods. Pizza dough made with flat beer instead of water is yummy!

Yes. Oh, pizza dough made with beer is really good!

I'm not sure I'd use it for plants. I had an ex-boyfriend who tired watering plants with left over beverages and the soil got moldy.

Hair rinse? Slug traps?

If it's unpasteurized, then the yeast that made the beer to begin with is still in it, and nothing else is really going to be able to compete with that bacterial activity.

If I pop a bottle (of homebrew) that didn't have a complete seal and is therefore flat, then it gets used for cooking. Since you don't do meat, try adding it to a pot of chili beans, or using it in bread.

Beyond food uses, slug traps are the next thing that come to mind.

I would cook with it. I've been out of beer since . . . last fall . . . and I keep forgetting to pick some up.
I could really use some to make beer batter for some shrimp I got on sale last payday!

I used to love to use it on my hair!

And for slugs.

do slugs do funny walks when drunk?

Use it on your hair! My mom washed my hair with beer growing up and I continue it to this day - it feels so soft afterwards.
