night time diaper problems tummy sleeper

We CD, but at nighttime Isla wears a disposable, pamper's sensitive. The last few weeks she's been leaking out the front of them during the night, so now I have to change her midway through the night, which always wakes her up too much and then its harder to get her back down. I think the reason its leaking is b/c she sleeps on her tummy, so all the pee collects in the front of the diaper and since babies aren't supposed to be on their tummies I don't think the diapers are made for it, ya know? LIke, the whole butt of the diaper is pretty much dry just the front is completely saturated. IS there anything I can do, or a diaper brand that is more absorbent? Can I put the diaper on her backwards??? thanks

what about using a diaper doubler, like the kind you would use with a CD for more absorbancy?

Hi! I also cloth diaper but use sposies at night (mostly to use up the stash I received for my baby shower). My DS also sleeps on his tummy and Pampers started leaking for us around 8 weeks old. We switched to the Huggies and he has NEVER leaked out of them. My DS is a heavy wetter! In fact he leaks out of every sposie except Huggies.

I finally got this sorted on my 18week old DS, last week, and he has now decided that he no longer likes to sleep on his tummy!

FWIW, we tried all kinds of combinations with cloth and sposies. In the end, what worked was a BumGenius, on the largest setting (with a high rise) with 2 BumGenius microfleece inserts and a generic bamboo booster.

Good luck! There's nothing worse than waking up in a puddle of pee which is what was happening to me!

I have a heavy wetter too - we use a microfiber insert on top of a hemp insert - it's the only thing that works. I also put wool pants or a soaker on top as pajama pants so if it *does* leak then they soak it up and she's not soaking the bed.

Have you tried moving a size up? Otherwise, I've heard good things about the Huggie's Overnites. We use the Walgreen's brand and they've been very good about not leaking. Of course, I usually change her 1/2 through the night; fortunately getting changed (as long I do it quickly and gently) seems to help her to get back to sleep.:

This is maybe really stupid... but...

what if you put the diaper on backwards?

I've never done it or even thought of it, and don't know if it would work but...eh, worth suggesting, right?

lol I've considered it actually but I'm so darn nervous about trying anything at night that might backfire lol I'm pretty lazy I guess. Maybe I should just give it a go.

I've also heard the bumgenious from a few different people. . .perhaps I need to make a purchase or two. They are expensive but so are disposables, even when just using them at night

Moving to diapering

Another thumbs up for BumGenius at night. We use the insert that comes with the diaper, folded over on the second snap, with the doubled section in front of the diaper. Then another insert not folded, and a microfleece liner. No leaks, dry in the morning, and a happy baby!
